Hi friends,
My names Neil and I’m a Southern Elephant Seal who was born on the Tasman Peninsula in October 2020.
I’m only a juvenile seal, so I tend to come ashore about 2 times a year… and when I do I often find myself getting into mischief because I am bold and adventurous.
Southern Elephant Seals like me can be a bit of a rarity in Tassie nowadays and we usually live around Macquarie Island, Campbell Island and Antipodes Island.
If you do ever see me in the wild, please be kind and give me 20m of space. You’ll never see me share my location too because I’m not the biggest fan of crowds.
