Fast Twitch Plyometrics ⚡
This Changes Your Speed
Fast twitch muscle fibers are the key to explosiveness, speed, and power.
If you don’t train them, you’ll never be truly fast — just “fit”.
Plyometric training activates your nervous system, improves reaction time, and teaches your body to produce more force in less time.
That means: higher jumps, faster sprints, better performance.
Train smart. Train explosive.

💯Wanna move like this? Free Routine & Guide at the end!👀
✅If you know you’re gonna need it… why wouldn’t you train it? Athletes don’t just need acceleration, they need versatility. Which means being able to take off from multiple positions and in multiple directions. These exercises enhance all of the above.

Use this 3-tier circuit to build better speed ⬇️
a) Olympic Lift
- Clean or Snatch
b) Resisted Sprint
- 50% VDEC for force
- 30% VDEC for power
c) Unresisted Sprint
- 10-20m for acceleration
You can use this when you are short on time.
The Olympic lift builds force & power & to support sprinting outputs.
The sprinting ensures the carry over to better athleticism.
Repeat for 4-5 sets after your initial warmup.
Using this outline I have added over 3 mph to my top speed

🏃♂️Shaft work looks simple… and that’s the point.
It’s pure reinforcement: feet/ankles, posture, and stiffness control — the stuff that makes plyos cleaner and sprinting feel “connected.”
Today’s flow:
Shaft reinforcement → plyometrics → short accelerations.
Build the base, then let the speed show.
Keep it crisp: tall posture, quiet contacts, controlled rhythm.
Your sprint is only as stable as the steps underneath it.

Stop using a "lack of equipment" as an excuse for your lack of progress speed doesn't require a gym membership; it requires maximal intent. You can build an elite engine in a parking lot, a backyard, or a local park with nothing but your own body weight and a high-effort mindset.
If you want to stay sharp and explosive without the fancy gear, master these five "anywhere" essentials

Lifting heavy is fast twitch training.
But…..
🏃🏻♂️ It’s still important to move fast.
Moving fast shifts recruitment strategies earlier, which has high specificity to improving sprint speed and jump height.
📈 Sprints, Plyos, Olympic lifts, and other “Power” training strategies can all improve how your fast twitch fibers activate with selective recruitment and improved rate coding.

A few concepts
No drill is perfect
How it’s used and how connections are made is most important

Here’s a simple hack to get a faster first step. It may seem simple but the amount of time I’ve seen athletes not load up the front leg when doing a sprint is crazy. Simple 70% of your weight on your front leg, 30% on your back leg and sit into your hip. That’s it. You do that and I guarantee you will be faster.
