One of the first things I had done when we bought the house and started renovating were our Victorian wooden floorboards. We paid a local company with great reviews (!!) to come repair, replace, fill sand and stain our floorboards but he left them looking....like this 🥴 What do you guys think? Is this normal? With its brushed matte finish and rustic character, this selection adds nice character to the space. Lots of you got pretty excited about our original Victorian floorboards when we revealed them a couple of months ago. We’re taking your collective advice and leaving them exposed throughout much of the ground floor. We’ve had a sample patch sanded and we now have to decide if we want a stain or to leave them au natural with just a clear finish applied to make them a bit more resilient. The moment we found these floorboards under the carpet and layers of disgusting vinyl flooring I knew we just had to celebrate them. Matt @ajflooring_uk worked his magic on bringing these back to life and we couldn't be more happy. We used Matt to do Arlo's room in our last home so we knew we were in capable hands.
