🎵❤️Gare du Nord, 🇫🇷Paris terminal station of Eurostar 🚊, is my Happy Place because it means I’ve arrived in Paris from 🇬🇧London.
That is so much more pleasant and convenient than flying into ✈️ Charles de Gaulle Airport and then taking the RER train to Paris city center.
Gare du Nord is Europe’s busiest railway station. Besides @eurostar it also connects to Paris metro subway and RER trains.
I’ve been to Paris over 40 times for personal and family business.
Thank you so much always! Hope you have a wonderful day!🎵🙏🏻

One mistake many travelers make in Paris is assuming all train stations are the same.
They aren’t.
Paris has several major railway hubs, and each one serves completely different regions and routes. If you arrive at the wrong station, you might discover your train is leaving from the other side of the city.
For example, the Gare du Nord handles trains to northern France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK via the Eurostar. Other stations connect to different directions across France and Europe.
This is why the most important habit before any train journey is simple:
Always check your ticket carefully.
Your ticket clearly shows the departure station, train number, and departure time. Knowing that station in advance helps you plan your route and arrive without rushing.
Also remember that large stations take time to navigate. Walking from the entrance to your platform can take several minutes, especially during busy hours.
Arrive early, check the departure boards, and move calmly toward your platform.
Train travel in Paris is actually very efficient once you know your station.
Save this tip before your next train trip from Paris 🚆🇫🇷.

But before to book, here are the essentials every traveler should know 👇
1. Book early (it really matters)
Train prices in France are dynamic. The earlier you book, the cheaper it is.
Tickets usually open 3–4 months in advance on the official SNCF website/app.
2. TGV vs TER
TGV = high-speed trains with mandatory seat reservation.
TER = regional trains, slower but perfect for smaller towns. No seat reservation.
3. Platforms appear about 20 minutes before departure
This is normal in France.
Keep an eye on the big screens, the “Voie” (platform) will show up close to departure.
4. Choose your seat: window, aisle… or a family table
On TGV trains you can select: Window or corridor seats, or Carré” family tables (4 seats facing each other).
5. Trains are the best way to visit… everything:
🇫🇷 Lyon
🇫🇷 Bordeaux
🇫🇷 Strasbourg & Colmar
🇫🇷 Loire Valley
🇫🇷 Provence
🇫🇷 Normandy
