The thing about gelli printing is that the possibilities are endless. I saw these physics notes and just knew I had to use them for something. While experimenting with photo transfers, I used these as a background. The end result is so cool - I love it. Next time, though, I’ll probably make the Einstein smaller to highlight the notes more. Can you hear it? A quiet, whisper of a print I thought about not sharing. I had a frustrating day in the studio yesterday, making four attempts at a design (not this) and ending in a slight defeat. Watch this tutorial to learn how to use the GELELF gel printing plate for fun, one-of-a-kind prints! ✨ —— Materials Used: 🔹 GELELF gel printing plate( 5” x 7” plate used in this video) 🔹Bristol smooth paper 🔹Acrylic paint 🔹Magazine pages for image transfer & texture 🔹Brayer (roller) for even spreading —— Tips for Successful Gel Prints: 🔹 What types of images work best for gel transfers? High-contrast black-and-white magazine images. Black-and-white laser-printed images on glossy or magazine paper. 🔹 How long should I wait before lifting the image from the gel plate? Wait 10–20 seconds after placing the image onto the gel plate. 🔹 How long should I wait before lifting the paper from the gel plate in the final step? Depending on the thickness of the paint, allow 10–30 minutes for the paint to dry (the thicker the paint, the longer the wait). 🔹 What should I do if the acrylic paint dries on the gel plate before transferring? Apply another layer of paint or transparent acrylic gel medium, then transfer your design to the paper. 🔹 Why isn’t my image transfer working? Your paint may be too thick or too dry before you apply the magazine image.
