Flag in or flag out? It depends on your speed. A Cal Poly professor rolled putts off a ramp, again and again. Soft pace, about 2.5 feet past: every putt dropped, flag in or out. Firmer, 4.5 feet past and catching the pole off-center: 9 in 10 dropped with the flag out, only about half with it in. The pole shoves the ball toward the rim. The flag only won on putts hit way too hard, 9 feet past, right into the middle of the pole. And by his math, even a great putter hits the middle of the pole about 1 time in 4. The rule: dying it at the hole? Doesn’t matter. Firm? Pull the flag. Flag in or out: what do you do? Comment it. #golf #golftips #putting #golfrules #golfbeginner

Half your ball is over the OB line. In or out? In. Rule 18.2a says a ball is out only when every bit of it is outside the boundary. Bonus: your feet can be out of bounds when you play it. Only the ball counts. Free rules cheat sheet + quiz: link in bio 🔗 #golfrules #golf #outofbounds #golftips

Plugged in the bunker sand: free drop? 🏌️ Nope. Embedded-ball relief (Rule 16.3) is only for the general area, not a bunker. Treat it as unplayable: Rule 19.3 gives you 4 relief options, and one costs two. 1️⃣ Play again from your previous spot (+1) 2️⃣ Back on the line, drop on that line in the bunker (+1) 3️⃣ Within 2 club-lengths, no nearer the hole, in the bunker (+1) 4️⃣ Back on the line, outside the bunker (+2 in total) In the bunker with your 2nd shot? Option 4 → your next shot is your 5th. Options 1–3 → your 4th. Which way out would you take? Comment 1, 2, 3 or 4 👇 You may also play it as it lies. Ball embedded in the grass or soil face? That face isn't part of the bunker (Rule 16.3 relief may apply). Diagram to approximate scale. Source: Rules of Golf 2023, Rules 16.3a & 19.1–19.3. The #1 course management rule nobody follows. ⛳️🧠Aim at the FAT side of the green. Always.🎯 A tucked pin 3 paces from water isn’t a target — it’s a trap 🎯 Middle of the green from 150 = a putt at birdie, guaranteed look at par 🎯 Hero golf at sucker pins = the double bogey that wrecks your roundTour pros fire at flags when the miss is safe. When the miss is water or a bunker, they take the fat side and make birdie with the flatstick. The pin will be there tomorrow. Your ball won’t.Save this for your next round. 💾 Tag the buddy who short-sides himself every single week. 😂#golfhackers #golftips #coursemanagement #golfstrategy

Your 7-iron does NOT go 160. ⛳️📏That was one time. Downwind. Off the cart path.Build your personal yardage chart: 1️⃣ Range session, your normal ball 2️⃣ 10 balls per club 3️⃣ Throw out best 2 and worst 2 — the middle 6 = your REAL number 4️⃣ Write it down. EVERY club. And yes — mine’s half-finished too. Driver, 3-wood, hybrid... then I got distracted. The chart you actually START beats the perfect one you never make.Save this for your next range session 💾 Tag the buddy who swears his 7-iron goes 195 😂#golf #golftips #golfinstruction #golfhackers #coursemanagement

Is this putting method legal or not legal? When you miss an 12 inch putt the regular way in the member member you try to figure out a way never to do that again 😂 From everything I can find it is perfectly legal. 1. Not straddling the line which goes from hole to ball and back 2. Making clean strike on ball and not pushing pulling etc. The Ping 1A was the perfect tool for this experiment. What do you think?
