Grassington might just be the prettiest village in the Yorkshire Dales. All honey coloured stone, cobbled squares and that cosy, ‘slow down and breathe’ energy I didn’t know I needed. ✨
Grassington has plenty of little surprises: the village has been a filming location for the Netflix series All Creatures Great and Small, its square hosts one of the Dales’ most loved Christmas markets, and beneath its peaceful surface lie remnants of a once thriving lead mining industry.
Exploring the Dales quaint villages towns like Grassington while I stayed with @classic_cottages was one of my favourite things to do in the Dales.
If you’re planning a Dales escape, make sure staying in a traditional stone cottage and exploring Grassington is on your list 💕

Grassington Snake Walk 🐍
An easy Miles Without Stiles, circular 1-mile walk from Grassington National Park Visitor Centre along the River Wharfe into the town centre and back.
Leaving the car park, this walk drops down through a walled lane to Linton waterfalls then follows the bank of the river Wharfe before routing back through Grassington town centre, returning to the National Park Visitor Centre.
The details of the walk are available on our free walking app (link in bio)

Grassington in the sunshine and definitely one of those places that feels very familiar.
If you watch All Creatures Great and Small, you’ll recognise a lot of the village from the series. It’s one of my favourite TV programmes, so being here and seeing some of the filming locations in real life was pretty cool.
A proper hot day in the Dales, but I’m not complaining. There’s just something about being back in Yorkshire that feels right.

🎶 Grassington Goes Back in Time! 🇬🇧
Yesterday was all about stepping back into the 1940s at the Grassington 1940s Weekend, and there was SO much going on that I’m going to have to split it into a few posts! 😂
There was singing, dancing, fabulous outfits, plenty of smiles and, most importantly, lots of people simply enjoying themselves and soaking up the atmosphere.
So here’s the first little taste of what I captured… and there’s plenty more to come! ❤️
