I have so much love for my fellow breast cancer survivors/warriors! 💗💖They always say you don’t want to join the club but when you do it has the best members and I think that’s true! If you’re a BC survivor or a cancer survivor I would love to know when you were diagnosed and how long you have been fighting or when you reached remission and were cancer free! When this happens, my prognosis will be excellent. Near 💯 Today, I’m celebrating hope and science. The doctors who have paved the way for this. Ele chegou acenando, com a fita rosa no ombro e muito a te contar! 🩷🧔 O Trastuzumabe é um anticorpo monoclonal com alvo certeiro na proteína HER2. Isso significa que ele não age de forma genérica, ele identifica e ataca especificamente as células que têm essa proteína em excesso. É usado no câncer de mama HER2 positivo e no câncer gástrico HER2 positivo, e faz parte de um dos tratamentos mais importantes da oncologia moderna. E como ele age? Bloqueando o sinal que manda as células tumorais crescerem e ainda chamando o sistema imunológico para ajudar a destruir essas células. Duplo ataque! 💪 Os efeitos mais comuns são febre, calafrios e dor de cabeça na primeira infusão. Isso se chama reação infusional e a equipe já sabe como manejar. Ele também pode causar náusea, cansaço, diarreia e dores musculares e articulares. E um ponto muito importante: o Trastuzumabe pode afetar o coração. Por isso durante todo o tratamento você vai realizar ecocardiogramas para monitorar a função cardíaca. Even in healthy people 😂 Thanks #chatgpt Many chemo drugs like the Herceptin I’m on can affect heart function. “Your echo shows your heart is tolerating treatment well so far.” I’ve had a scare a few years ago that would have had to stop my Herceptin which is scary because that is the drug that is blocking the aggressive side of the cancer.
