How I made an arm fall apart 👇🏼
Everything you saw in the final, broken down:
Growth Maps → Vellum sim → Skin fracturing → Multible Pyro passes → POP Sims from Volume → Debris Emitter → Comp in Nuke.
Rendered in Karma XPU.
The fracture isn’t random noise — it’s driven by Growth Curves, so the skin breaks where it should, not where the solver felt like it.

From pixels to petals.
We started exploring how far a procedural 2D workflow could be pushed turning simple patterns and layers into organic forms, textures, and intricate details.
This is the first study in an ongoing exploration of procedural flowers in Houdini.
