"Veel zorgomgevingen zijn ingericht vanuit veiligheid, controle én gemak. Dit lijkt onschuldig en komt vaak vanuit een goede bedoeling, maar er zit ook een nadeel aan…
…want: hoe kunnen we van mensen verwachten dat ze levendig zijn, als de omgeving om hen heen dood is?" vraagt @teuntoebes zich af.
👉 Laten we daarom streven naar een omgeving die aanvoelt als een THUIS, met levende, warme én natuurlijke materialen. Dan creëren we niet alleen plekken waar we later misschien zelf willen wonen, maar vooral zorgen we voor méér leven voor mensen die dit nu zó hard nodig hebben.

@teuntoebes voluntarily lived in two nursing homes for three years to discover ways we can look after and care for people with dementia. He then travelled the world to see how others countries do it.
The title of his documentary - Human Forever - and the title of his book - The Housemates - encapsulates his message.

✨ My first Vipassana retreat was a journey beyond what I imagined — mentally, spiritually, and even physically.
After 10 days of silence, no words, no glances, it all ended where it began — at the kids’ playground. Strangely, I felt closer to everyone than ever, because we had all touched the same truth: Dhamma.
The spontaneous “after-party” was pure joy.
And although we practiced non-attachment there, I'm gonna miss that place and people. #humanforever 😋
