▫️You know why the main stream (& even “alternative”) treatments don’t work for Lyme disease?
▫️Because Lyme disease isn’t what they say it is. It’s just another diagnosis they throw at you when they don’t have the answers.
▫️I spent years recovering from “Lyme disease” & trying all the things listed above, spending years with a LLMD, plus so many more.
▫️The truth is that everyone, including animals, carry the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. It is a normal part of our environment & poses no health risks.
▫️ Lyme disease is actually viral - not bacterial or parasitic. It could be one or a combination of EBV, HHV-6, any of the shingles varieties, etc.
▫️That’s why most Lyme patients will test positive for EBV or cytomegalovirus.
◽️The body heals itself when given the tools that it needs and that comes in the form of fruits, vegetables, wild foods, herbs & spices.
▫️If you have been given a diagnosis of Lyme disease, it is not a life sentence. I have healed and so can you!
↗️ If you know someone that has been diagnosed with Lyme, please share this post with them.

I had Lyme. Here's what no one told me—until I had a mind-blowing conversation with @kristineprofeta
The Lyme bacteria (Borrelia burgdorferi) can’t make its own phosphatidylcholine (PC)—a lipid your cells need to function.
So it steals it. From you.
According to a 2022 study published in JCI Insight, Borrelia hijacks PC and other phospholipids from your cell membranes to build its own—and even uses those lipids to disguise itself from your immune system.
Your cells are left depleted. Mitochondria struggle. Inflammation rises.
Most treatments focus on killing the bug. But no one talks about rebuilding what it damaged.
That’s why I use BodyBio PC: to help restore the lipid foundation of my cells and support recovery at the membrane level.*

Did you know you can have Lyme disease and have zero symptoms? 😳
Getting to the root cause of Lyme disease means strengthening your mitochondria—the powerhouse of your cells—so your body has the fuel it needs to heal. Lyme bacteria don’t just cause infections; they hijack energy production, leading to fatigue, brain fog, and immune dysfunction.
Mitochondrial damage in Lyme can lead to:
👉 Oxidative stress, impairing energy production
👉 Neurological issues like anxiety & cognitive decline
👉 Weakened gut health & immune function
Lyme bacteria also hide in biofilms, depleting key nutrients like magnesium and zinc—critical for brain and immune health. That’s why antibiotics alone often aren’t enough.
Supporting mitochondrial repair, detoxing, and activating natural killer (NK) cells is key to long-term healing.
A critical component of treating and healing Lyme disease is cleaning up your diet. Ultra-processed, high-sugar, inflammatory foods fuel infections and need to be eliminated from your diet. I have a clean eating guide that goes more in-depth on the best superfoods to boost your energy, as well as tips on improving digestion and gut health. Comment ‘CLEAN’ and I’ll send it your way.

Not thinking they have Lyme because they never got bit by a tick(me). A renowned doctor Dr. Klinghardt has said for years everyone with chronic disease has Lyme. I thought it was an overestimation but I think he is right. This sneaky pathogen may infect us in ways we don’t understand yet.
Lyme denial just gets us further from healing and becoming the best version of ourselves. There is evidence that Lyme is pleiomorphic which pretty much means It can shapeshift from a not so bad pathogen to a super bug in the right conditions. Don’t let this happen to you! Protect your terrain!
Things that are stressing your terrain you may not have thought about like 5G or other EMF’s. These are shown to make bugs more pathogenic. Also mold in your home or work or anywhere you spend a decent amount of time.
Trauma and stress can make these bugs shapeshift into an infective pathogen.
At my clinic (@vagusclinic) we test to see what’s up and prefer the vibrant labs tests tickborne 2.0 for all the Lyme and coinfections plus opportunistic pathogens.

My experience getting a Lyme diagnosis in Ontario was really, really hard.
🕷️I first presented with a sore, itchy bite on my torso that was diagnosed as an infected bug bite. After slight improvement with antibiotics, I then had skin sensitivity (like a sunburn), SEVERE (7/10) stabbing and aching pain that started in one and and migrated to other, and a stiff, locked neck. This was dismissed as tendinitis and pinched nerves. These symptoms started about a week and a half after the initial rash, and lasted about 10 days.
🎯 Then the rash got bigger, appearing as very large, diffuse rings. I never had a fever, or flu like symptoms. I never saw a tick. For these reasons, my symptoms kept being brushed off. I was adamant I thought I had Lyme and finally got tested, which came back positive.
🏥 ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. I don't blame the doctors - they are doing what they have been trained to do, look for the most plausible cause. Most doctors haven't been trained on diagnosing Lyme when it presents without the typical symptoms. A rash doesn't always look like the typical bullseye (and its only presents 60-80% of the time!). Catching and treating Lyme early can prevent a lifetime of pain.
I'm also leaning that Lyme is a lot more common than people realize in Ontario, and it's on the rise due to climate change. Do you know someone else who has dealt with Lyme? Let me know any questions you have about my experience in the comments, and please feel free to share yours if you're comfortable 💚
I'll slowly be rolling out a series related to Lyme, so follow @shawna.go if you aren't already, and share this far and wide so everyone can fight for their health.

🌿 Lyme Awareness Month 🌿
In April 2014, one tiny tick changed my life.
The symptoms started quietly — joint pain, tendinitis, exhaustion — but within months, they spiraled beyond anything I could explain.
Years of endless doctors’ visits, countless tests, and still, no answers.
Until March 2016 — I finally got my diagnosis: Lyme Disease.
And then I realized the real fight was just beginning.
From IV and oral antibiotics, to natural medicine, to more antibiotics...
From moments of hope, to setbacks that broke my heart...
Healing has never been a straight line.
It wasn’t until early 2022 — nearly 8 years after my bite — that I started to truly feel myself again.
To dream again. To live again.
I just stopped active treatment in February 2025.
And while healing has come, so has the uncertainty:
Will it hold? Will symptoms return?
The truth is, with Lyme, you never fully know.
But here’s what I do know:
I’m stronger than I ever thought possible.
I’m still here. And I’m not giving up.
This month — and every month — I share my story for those still searching for answers, still fighting for their lives, still holding onto hope.
You’re not alone. 💚

Just some Lyme Disease Awareness to interrupt your scroll - because no matter how many times I hear these facts, they still scare me more than most news I hear 😳
🦠 There is no minimal attachment time needed for a tick to transmit illness.
🦠 77% of people go undiagnosed, until Lyme progresses to the chronic stage.
🦠 A Lyme rash is often referred to as a bulls-eye - however, that is not the only shape it can present in & this misconception affects a lot of missed diagnoses.
🦠 50% or less of patients report recalling a rash to begin the illness. (I am one of those)
🦠 Ticks are NOT the only way to contract Lyme Disease & co-infections … other vectors (mice, mosquitoes, fleas) and even from a cat scratch (Bartonella).
Be safe, stay educated & do frequent tick checks year round of yourself, your pets & loved ones 💚

I received my Lyme diagnosis in 2016 just after the birth of my second son.
I had previously been diagnosed with a hodgepodge of conditions from Dysautonomia to ALS. I had daily seizures, Mini strokes, paralysis, POTS, lost my speech and suffered with a laundry list of symptoms too long to write here. It wasn’t until a friend from church mentioned Lyme Disease that it was even on my radar. I asked for testing, my doctor told me it wasn’t possible because Lyme wasn’t in Utah, but he reluctantly ran the tests and sure enough, my numbers were off the charts. Chronic Neurological Lyme.
Then began treatment. Months of antibiotics, dozens of treatments, doctors, supplements, therapy and thousands of dollars gone. My health continued to decline. With every treatment I became worse.
By 2018 my doctors had given up. Telling me there was nothing more they could do, my body was failing me and I could possibly lose my life to this disease. Exactly what you want to hear as a new mom with 2 babies.
In 2019 we decided to sell everything we owned and have the adventure of a lifetime. If I was going to be sick I wanted to do it seeing the country and making memories with my boys. At the end of that year I was so miserable with my health that I considered taking my own life. That’s when God showed me my missing piece. He brought me a gut health system that would literally save my life. Gut health was my missing piece.
One year of healing my gut with this system and my Lyme symptoms were completely gone. Blood tests showed no Lyme in my body. I was free!
Are you searching and praying for answers to your health? Comment GUT and I’ll share the system that changed my life and put my Lyme into remission. Healing is possible!

Let’s talk about Lyme…
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the United States with an estimated amount of over 300,000 new cases per year. It is caused by the bacterium Borrelia and is often accompanied by many co-infections. These bacterial strains are typically transferred to humans from an infected tick, but new research shows that Lyme can be transmitted by other carriers.
Lyme disease can present a large variety of symptoms that often mimic and imitate other common diseases, making it difficult to accurately understand and diagnose. Someone infected with one or more bacterial invaders is more likely to have a compromised immune system with parasites, mold, and environmental toxins.
Testing for Lyme disease and it’s co-infections is commonly inaccurate, at Synergy our practitioners have found success using muscle testing to identify and treat Lyme
Working with a Lyme literate practitioner is crucial to obtaining a proper diagnosis and personalized treatment plan
