It’s Been SO Fine! After an incredible run, I’m stepping away from my role as chair of the Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show with a full heart and endless gratitude. Thank you to my *team, the artists, volunteers, collectors, and friends who make the show such a special place in the art world year after year. It’s been an honor and a joy. 🎨💙 *** @cabuonomo @gwendolynredfernartist @sarahpollockstudio @lilaturjanksivillard @davidoleski @saccokerry @rinal.parikh @kimmyerssmith @jeff_schaller @artbyromano @sandrasedmakengelart @p_jagger @charlesjoyceart @rittenhousesquareart #rittenhousesquareart #onwardandupward
These are the last few days of PLACE/DISPLACE at @keystoneartla. It has been a pleasure to share my work with many of you. As an artist, I work hard to bring people to my work. However, putting on an exhibition also enables me to see the work clearly. Each piece is able to find its stage. Exhibiting is not only about sharing, but it allows the created work to truly exist in their own right. There is a respect I am able to provide for each work that the chaos of a studio often does not. The separation is a letting go, an acknowledgment and a gift. Creating art extends our perspective to those who are open to seeing beyond their own. It is not always comfortable, obvious or settling. Perhaps the best work leaves one a bit off center, for a bit. Thank you to @keystoneartla for providing this space. I am grateful to founder Mel who invested a lot to provide this community and exhibition space to us. It’s not about the market, it’s about the shared space to those who are willing to shape it. For that I am grateful. This Sunday, I am happy to be present with the work with you starting at 11am and sharing some insights to my practice, influences and process. Talk will start at 11:30am. Come by to check out the last days of the exhibition “Place/Displace”. During the week, gallery hours are 11am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. Art isn’t decoration. It’s cultural participation. Our CEO Sarah is pulling back the curtain on how we think about art and collecting. These are the conversations we want to keep having—the real reasons art matters and what it means to engage with art today. We’d love to hear your perspective: what role does art play in your life? #contemporaryart #artlovers #collectart #art #arttalk #artcollecting #artlife
