MBA fees vs salary: the reality nobody explains before you join. I completed my MBA at 25 from JBIMS Mumbai. Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I picked a college 👇 1. Don’t look at the highest package. Look at the average or median. The highest is one person. The average is closer to you. 2. Compare the average package with your total fee. If the average package is close to or above the fee, the ROI is practical. 3. Count the real cost, not just the fee. Add 2 years of hostel or rent, plus the salary you give up if you quit your job. 4. Look at in-hand, not CTC. A ₹20 LPA package is about ₹1.3 lakh a month in hand. 5. If you’re taking an education loan, check the EMI against that in-hand number, not the CTC. My example: The JBIMS fee is about ₹6 lakh for 2 years. JBIMS’s latest average package (2024-26 batch) is ₹26.67 LPA. That’s the entire fee earned back in about 4-6 months of salary. An MBA can absolutely change your life.
