It took a conversation with my first boss for me to understand the benefits of 401k, other investments like real estate and even Business Development. At 22 like Samar says in this video we are often thinking about our immediate needs or the needs of our growing families at that age. One thing my boss told me “When you get a raise or more money put the extra towards savings, investments and give in charity. Literally speaks to our religious values. It made all the difference for when unexpected expenses came up. Now that I’m older if I could go back I would have started earlier and invested more. These are the Top 3 Reasons Most women down get started in business or investing: 1‱ I’M CONCERNED IT DOESN’T FOLLOW MY FAITH GUIDELINES: Many Muslim women are concerned about whether business or investment activities align with Islamic principles. I’m dealing with so much right now. Even when I post a picture of me smiling or venturing outside for a couple of hours; there’s still so much happening behind the scenes to make that happen. I often watch this video of our future President @kamalaharris worshiping in the White House to Chicagos own @jonmcreynolds (Did you catch him and Common performing at the DNC last night?). Anyway, I always think if she can mouth those words with the unimaginable pressure and scrutiny she faces for daily. If she can speak #powHER to truth as a women of color despite the threats, naysayers, and constant lies told about her. If she can hold her head up when some of her worse critics are other people of color, then I can definitely inspired to keep going. Because I want my whole life to prove that God is good.

At the Exim Bank Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026, we brought the calming art of crochet knitting to life through a hands-on workshop led by Ms. Rozina Suleman, Co-Founder of POWHER Charitable Trust, Delhi, an organization empowering women and persons with disabilities through craft. What began with training 10 women has now grown into a community of 40+ women passing the skill forward. At the festival, participants experienced more than just stitches; they discovered focus, patience, and the quiet joy of creating something by hand, with many reconnecting with crochet after decades.
