One of the biggest surprises people have when they first get into 3D printing is how long prints actually take. Because when you see a finished object online, it feels like the printer just spits it out. But that’s not how the technology works. 3D printers don’t create objects all at once. They build them layer by layer. Sometimes thousands of layers. Each layer might only be 0.2 millimeters thick, which is about the thickness of a sheet of paper. That means even a simple object could require hundreds or thousands of passes from the nozzle before it’s finished. That’s why a print that looks small might still take 4–8 hours to complete. And larger prints? Those can easily run 12, 24, or even 30+ hours. This is also why print settings matter so much. Speed. Layer height. Infill. Supports. All of these settings change how long a print takes and how strong the final object will be. The key insight most beginners miss is this: A 3D printer isn’t about instant production. It’s about automated production. Once the print starts, the machine does the work for you. Which means while the printer is running… You can be designing the next product. Follow for more 3D printing insights.

Today Florencio Reached out with a BAD FIRST LAYER caused by AI not making the first layer flat, I show a very simple 3D print solution so that anyone can understand it and save their prints for good. Hopefully @florencio got the help he needed and I as of use. This is a completely new series and depending on your feedback I will be making the next part! Thank you makers and HAPPY printing! #3dprint #3dprintingmodel #3dprinttips #3dprintingtips #3dprinttutorial
