YOUR PULLUP GRIP CHANGES MORE THAN YOU THINK 🧠 Changing your grip and hand width can change how different muscles contribute to the movement 💪🏻 A wider grip, narrower grip, pronated grip or neutral grip can all create different demands on your back, arms and shoulders. Instead of doing the same pullup every session, learn how to use different variations strategically ⚖️ Better understanding = better programming = better progress. Master the movement, don’t just chase reps. For 1-1 calisthenics coaching and personalised pullup progressions, DM me ‘PULLUPS’ 📩
My younger self would be so proud of me. That’s why. #pullups #calisthenics #gymmotivation #pullup #gym
If pull-ups bother your neck, upper traps, or even shoulders, this is usually why. Shrugging your way to the top awkwardly shifts the load into the neck and traps and takes the lats out of the movement. It makes you far weaker and vulnerable. Every pull-up should start with scapular depression: shoulders driving down as the elbows drive into the sides. Did you know that over 70% to 80% of average adults can't complete a single strict pull-up? 🚨 Biomechanical research shows that the pull-up is the ultimate test of relative strength—meaning your ability to lift your own body mass against gravity. Unlike the bench press or bicep curl, increasing body fat actively penalizes your vertical pull performance, making grip strength, lat activation, and power-to-weight ratio critical. If you're stuck at zero reps, stop aimlessly trying to pull yourself up. Focus on these 4 evidence-based progressions instead: 1️⃣ Negative Pull-Ups (Focus on a 3–5 second slow eccentric drop) 2️⃣ Assisted Pull-Ups (Use a resistance band or an assisted pull-up machine to reduce load) 3️⃣ Scapular Pull-Ups (Build lower trapezius and lat engagement) 4️⃣ Inverted Bodyweight Rows (Strengthen posterior chain and grip) pullups | how to do a pull up | pull up progression | calisthenics | upper body workout | back workout | bodyweight strength | pullup workout | grip strength | gym tips | fitnesstips | calisthenics workout | back day | build muscle | strength training | pullup tips | vertical pull | fitness algorithm | workout reels | gymtok | gym | gym motivation | strength training | fitness | body fat | muscle | muscle mass | lats | relative strength | gain muscle | cutting | bulking | weight | cats #viral #fyp #explore #foryou #trending
A couple of weeks ago I made it my goal to do a pull up, I managed to learn how to do it with reverse grip but that wasn’t good enough for me, so I pushed and pushed and today I finally can say I can do an unassisted pull up💪🏽 #weightgainjourney #gymmotivation #fitnessmotivaton #gymjourney #pullup

How to Achieve a PULL-UP Practice: 1. Negatives - Start at the top of the bar and lower yourself slowly and with control. Start with 8–10 reps every day. 2. Dead Hangs - Simple, but POWERFUL. Hang from the bar with straight arms. Start with 30 seconds, working your way up to 2 minutes🫡 3. Strength Train - Variations of pulldowns and rows are my favorites. 4. Stay CONSISTENT. Practice a few minutes every day, or every other day. 5. You’ll be flying in no time😏 #pullup #pullups #backworkout #strengthtraining

How to do Pull Ups 🎯 Target Muscles: Back, Arms Equipment: Pull-Up Bar Difficulty Level: Intermediate 🟢 Step 1 — Starting Position 1. Stand beneath the pull-up bar and reach overhead with your palms facing away from you (pronated grip). 2. Jump, step up, or lift yourself to grasp the bar using a full grip, with your thumbs wrapped around the bar. 3. Gently cross one foot over the other to improve lower-body stability. 4. Brace your core to maintain a stable, neutral spine. 5. Keep your head aligned with your spine and your wrists in a neutral position, in line with your forearms. 6. Retract and depress your shoulder blades, maintaining this position throughout the movement. 🟢 Step 2 — Pulling Phase 7. Exhale as you pull your body upward by bending your elbows. 8. Drive your elbows down toward your sides. 9. Keep your elbows moving straight toward the floor, close to your body (3 and 9 o’clock position). 10. Maintain a vertical body position and avoid swinging or using momentum. 🟢 Step 3 — Return Phase 11. Continue pulling until your chin reaches bar level or slightly above it. 12. Pause briefly at the top. 13. Inhale as you slowly lower yourself back to the starting position until your arms are fully extended. 14. Maintain proper shoulder blade position, neutral wrists, and full-body alignment throughout the movement. 15. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions. 🟢 Step 4 — Exercise Variations 16. To increase the difficulty, attach additional weight using a dip belt. 17. Using a narrow pronated grip shifts part of the workload from the lats to the upper back muscles. 18. Perform the movement with proper technique to maximize back activation while minimizing stress on the shoulder joints. 📚 Source: American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) #pullup #Fitness
