Stop giving subs your supervised neglected patients!!! I hate it because the people at this office are really nice but If you want to do prophy’s on patients with severe periodontitis that’s on you but as a sub I feel disrespected that this patient was in my column. The other hygienist this pt saw last time was there today. When I went to ask her about the patient and consult with her I knew she saw her last time because I read her note and she pretended to not know anything. She also didn’t know what perio program meant. If you don’t want a sub to return, this is how you do it. This was not a good experience due to the deep pockets but also because this patient wouldn’t let me even talk or educate her. She said she only wanted to talk to the Dr but wanted a cleaning with severe periodontitis…even though I’m the one providing the service. Thankfully, because I was perio charting by myself, this took awhile and because I had the Dr do the exam first, before I did anything with only 10 minutes to spare -I told her and the Dr together that I will not be doing her “cleaning” today and that she would need to come back another time.
