“피에르 오귀스트 르누아르”에 대해서 간단히 알아볼게요.
여러분이 “르누아르” 라는 이름을 들었을 때 떠오르는 느낌, 어떤가요?
아마도 ‘부드럽다’, ‘따뜻하다’, ‘행복하다’ 같은 단어들일 텐데요.
바로 그 느낌을 가장 잘 그려낸 화가가 “르누아르”입니다.
르누아르는 프랑스를 대표하는 인상주의 화가 중 한 사람으로,
1841년에 태어나 1919년까지 활동했어요.
그가 살았던 시대는 카메라가 발명되면서 미술의 흐름이 크게 바뀌던 시기였습니다.
이 당시의 화가들은 사진처럼 정확하게 그림을 그리려고 하지 않고,
자신이 느끼는 ‘순간의 느낌’을 담아내려고 했는데요,
그게 바로 우리가 아는 ‘인상파’라는 미술 사조입니다.
인상파시대에는 인상파를 창시한 모네를 비롯해서
드가, 피사로, 시슬레 등의 쟁쟁한 화가들도 함께 활동하던 시대였어요.

르누아르는 인물들을 통하여 자신의 미술세계를 펼쳤어요.
르느와르 작품의 특징 첫 번째는 따뜻하고 밝은 색감입니다.

Picasso, Renior, Van Gogh, right there before your eyes. Look closer, and you can see their brush strokes. Extraordinary day soaking in the works of named and unnamed artists, capturing the beauty of a moment. Delightful. Perhaps the most delightful sight was a young father with his child facing outward strapped in a pack on his chest. As they approached the bright stained glass windows he spoke the names of the colors. Then he said, "Can you see the trees?" Lol, and the baby and I noticed them, black lines of branches crossing the glass. Glorious.
