They hate us because they ain’t us 💯 via 🎥: Norbit “Norbit” is a 2007 American comedy film directed by Brian Robbins. Eddie Murphy co-wrote, co-produced, and stars in multiple roles—most famously as the timid title character Norbit Albert Rice, his domineering and morbidly obese wife Rasputia Latimore, and the orphanage owner Mr. Wong. The story follows shy, mild-mannered Norbit, who was abandoned as a baby at a Chinese restaurant/orphanage. As an adult, he’s unhappily married to the loud, abusive, and larger-than-life Rasputia (who bullies him into the marriage). When his childhood sweetheart Kate (Thandie Newton) returns to town, Norbit sees a chance at true love—but he must navigate Rasputia, her intimidating brothers (including Terry Crews as Big Jack), and various chaotic schemes to break free.
