Beneath the breed’s celebrated temperament lies a specific and well-documented neurological profile that behavioral scientists have studied extensively. Golden Retrievers possess an unusually high baseline level of oxytocin reactivity, the neurochemical most associated with social bonding and trust, which is measurably elevated in Goldens compared to most other breeds when in the presence of familiar humans. This partially explains the breed’s characteristic inability to sustain aggression, its compulsive tendency toward greeting behavior, and its broadly documented capacity to form affiliative bonds not only with humans but with other species including cats, rabbits, and birds. A 2015 study conducted at the University of Helsinki found that Golden Retrievers scored lowest of all breeds tested on measures of aggression and fear, and highest on measures of sociability and playfulness, confirming what anyone who has ever owned one already knew intuitively. #cute #dog #pets #funny #golden

all the activity was worth it for the aftermath 👏🏼 The reality of having 3 golden retrievers is that sometimes going on a walk actually means 3 different walks. We do this so that the dogs are trained, have their individual needs met, & it makes the walks we do with all 3 dogs go smoother! puppy odin = training walk, cosmo = energy burning walk, loki = leisurely stroll 🐶🐶🐶 It definitely takes more time, but I enjoy spending one on one time with the dogs & giving them the same thing isn’t always what they need 🫶🏻 plus baby conrad napped until the end of Loki’s walk.. nothing beats an outdoor baby nap! #goldenretriever #dogmomlife #multidoghousehold
