A transparent shark cage sounds incredible until a massive great white comes charging straight at it. During a Shark Week segment, Jimmy entered an acrylic cage designed to give him a clear underwater view without the usual thick metal bars. Then the shark hit the cage at speed. The walls shook hard, and suddenly the clear design looked a lot less comforting with a great white only inches away. The cage held, but the moment showed how different “protected” feels when the only thing between you and a massive predator is a sheet of clear acrylic.

With no heavy metal bars surrounding him, Jimmy is left inside a transparent enclosure that suddenly feels terrifyingly fragile. The enormous shark continues circling nearby, coming within inches of him as the encounter reaches its most nerve wracking moments. Jimmy ultimately manages to get away safely, but the close call became one of the most intense and unforgettable moments featured during Shark Week.
