There is honestly no greater honor as a cat sitter than this 😭🐾 At my last sit, I was caring for two cats, and one of them was known for being more shy around new people. But pretty quickly, I noticed she had actually warmed up to me way faster than I expected… from hanging out with me to cuddling up beside me, etc 🥹 As I was sending photo updates to the owner, I got this text from her and my heart absolutely melted 😭 Is there a better feeling than gaining the trust of a shy cat?? Imagine being a shelter cat and not getting adopted just because you’re nervous. 💔 That is the reality for so many of the cats here at our shelter who are looking for their forever homes. They just need a little extra time to trust new people, which means they easily get missed in favor of more outgoing, cuddly lap cats. Yet, there is truly nothing more rewarding than gaining the trust of a nervous cat. Cleocatra is 10 years old and one of the shy babies I catsit. It’s been four months of gaining her trust and this particular 5 day stretch is proving to be our strongest bonding time yet. Today you’ll see *so many pets*, some more downstairs time, and really start to watch this baby girl’s personality start to shine. Today was a great day. Two more visits with this little queen baby!
