Does it ever end? 👀 It will! For now, it might feel like there's no light at the end of the sickness tunnel (seriously, anyone got a flashlight? 🔦). Whether this is your child's first virus or their twentieth this season, it can cause concern and worry for us as caregivers. This week on my YouTube channel PedsDocTalk TV, I go over FIVE common things to monitor when your kiddo has a virus. These are general signs and symptoms that would warrant a visit. My goal is to provide some relief and limit visits and copays for all of you if it's something that can be monitored at home. From dehydration to rashes, to changes in behavior, I cover it all! Tap the link in bio to check it out and don't forget to subscribe! 💓 If you're ever debating "Do I need to go to the pediatrician for this illness?" ➡️ This is the Youtube to watch. How's everyone holding up with this never-ending cold season? We are on an every 3-6 week cycle of catching some sort of virus, which seems like a vacation compared to the every 1-2 weeks when Ryaan first started group childcare. #toddlerlife #sicktoddler #momsupportingmoms #pediatrician #pediatricianmom #pediatrics #sickbaby #toddlermom
There is nothing worse than a wild toddler with the stomach bug. If they’re sick and you play the right cartoon you can keep them contained and save your couch, carpet, and sanity! I call this the Toddler Puke Containment System. Solidarity to everyone who has has this stomach bug that boomeranged us! It came in hard, made us think we were done, and the walloped is again later in the week. (Insert hunger games whistle here.) Thanks to everyone who loved this idea when I shared it in my stories this week. I’m reallocating my normal speech therapist brain cells into saving the carpets of parents everywhere. 🤣 Share this with your toddler mom friends! 🤢 🤣 #toddlerlife #sicktoddler #sendhelp

You can break the vicious cycle of illness after illness. 🦠 Our bodies aren’t meant to be sick all the time— not even children’s bodies. When your little one gets sick there is a rise in inflammation. This is the body’s natural fighting response. Yet, when we are experiencing sickness after sickness it means inflammation never comes down. Leaving the body vulnerable to infection. Back-to-back illness also means the absorption of certain minerals like iron and zinc can get impacted. Leaving us even more vulnerable to catching a virus or bacterial infection 🦠 💊 We try to use Panadol and Neurofen to ease their pain but this inadvertently slows down recovery. ❤️So how do we break this cycle? Firstly, we do everything we can to prevent getting stuck in this cycle. We support the gut (80% of the immune system lives in the gut). We ensure all the immune supporting nutrients stores are replenished. We do ongoing immune support whenever there is plenty of sickness going around. We avoid antibiotics (if possible) or anything else that disrupts the gut Microbiome. We make room for slowing down, having fun, being in nature and resting. This gives your little ones the best fighting chance to bounce back quickly whenever they catch a 🦠 I’ve been stuck in this cycle myself. When my son was little we experienced month after month of illness. It felt never ending—it felt like years. I didn’t know what I know now. Nowadays, even though my daughter gets sick, we are able to figure out the best way to help her bounce back quickly. We would love to support you and your family this winter. ❄️ Comment BOOK ME for immune support. #babynaturopath #babyguthealth #ohhealthybaby #babynutritionist #babynutrition #lailahelena #guthealthmatters #immunesupport #sickofbeingsick #sickinbed #sickbabies #sicktoddler
