If your clearcoat has bits, dirt, or nibs in it, it’s probably not bad luck. This video shows how improper spray gun cleaning causes contamination and how to clean your spray gun properly using thinners so it stops ruining paint jobs 😉✨
Some guns are designed for base, others for clear. Generally clear coat guns are designed to allow material to land “wetter” which allows clearcoat to behave as intended. Clear-coats and sealers are designed to “flow out” before they “skin over” or dry. Therefore using a gun that applies material wetter, will optimize results! It’s also more common for clear-coat guns to come with larger fluid tip sizes, which can also be beneficial for sealer. Just remember to always check the TDS for the material you’re spraying! They will always have a recommended pressure and fluid tip sizes 👍🏼
