Paradise found 🕶️ The next time you visit this crowded, not-so-secret, freshwater lake, try spending the day on the OTHER side of the lake! Here you’ll find a lesser-known area with few crowds, trees and shade. It’s the perfect spot for a quiet day out. Relax in hammocks, fish, look at the wildflowers, and walk nature trails. You can easily launch kayaks from this side too. If you’re looking for some noise, more people, room to spread out, bathrooms, and lots of sunshine, the north side might be better suited for you. I hope this tip will help you find some SOLITUDE on the south side to enjoy the gorgeous lake and soaring mountain peaks🏔️…without the crowds. Another tip: don’t come on a weekend. Mid-morning on a weekday is your best bet! Where? ⬇️⬇️ Tibble Fork, up AF Canyon How to get here?⬇️⬇️ Park at the dam, walk across the top of the dam, and hang a left onto the walking trail and you’re there! American Fork Canyon does have a fee station. The fee is $10 for a 1-3 day pass. America the Beautiful Passes are also honored for covering fees.

Our FAVORITE tucked away Utah gem! Welcome to 📍Silver Lake Flat The road up is just past Tibble Fork Reservoir and it turns to dirt quickly! It’s bumpy, narrow, and not exactly confidence-inspiring. Drive slow and be respectful of other drivers. I’ve seen cars tackle the drive but I would recommend at least all wheel drive and some clearance. Some of the ruts and holes are DEEP! The drive up isn’t quick but the views of Tibble Fork below and Timp as a backdrop are jaw dropping. And the reward at the end…worth it! Beautiful blue water, mountain views, and a peaceful little paradise that feels like it belongs in a postcard. We love swimming, paddleboarding, exploring, and just soaking in the beauty. The kids are always in heaven. We’ve seen the truck pulling away after stocking it with fish so I’m sure there is some good fishing but I’ve never tried myself. This is the life we came to Utah for. ✅ Endless outdoor adventures ✅ Nature in our backyard ✅ Clean air, cool water, and no noise except the birds and breeze One of the best parts? It’s less than an hour from our front door. 35 minutes or less if you live in American Fork or the towns north of there. If you’ve been dreaming about a slower, more peaceful, family focused life surrounded by the mountains, this is your sign. Comment “GUIDE” for my Utah County Community. Today Lone Peak units were dispatched to 2 sledding accidents simultaneously. At 14:15 units were dispatched to Horsetail Falls for a patient who had a possible broken ankle and was 1.8 miles up the trail. Thank you to @intermountainlifeflight and @utahcountysar for help getting the pt off the trail and to the ambulance where the patient was transported for further evaluation. At 14:16 we were dispatched to a second sledding accident at Tibble Fork in AF Canyon. The patient was assessed but released on scene. Only have one weekend in Salt Lake City this summer? Here’s how I’d spend it as a local. ☀️⛰️🍹 After years of exploring all the best spots, this is my ideal summer weekend itinerary in and around Salt Lake City—packed with mountain views, good food, and just enough adventure. 🗓️ FRIDAY EVENING:
Start with a golden hour drive up Guardsman Pass, easily one of the most scenic spots close to the city.
Then head to Urban Hill for dinner, elevated, cozy, and such a vibe.
Wrap up the night with drinks and live music at Keys on Main, or go line dancing at The Westerner if you’re down for a fun, rowdy night. 🗓️ SATURDAY:
Spend your morning strolling through the Downtown SLC Farmers Market.coffee in hand, fresh produce, local makers, and good energy.
After that, hike to Lake Blanche. It’s a tougher one, but the lake and mountain backdrop at the top? Worth every step.
Spend your afternoon shopping at some local gems like Salt & Honey Market, The Stockist, and explore 9th & 9th.
Then head out to The Lakehouse at Deer Creek for dinner, it’s right on the water and the sunset is unreal. 🗓️ SUNDAY:
Start the day with paddleboarding at Tibble Fork Or float the Provo River with High Country Adventure for something more playful.
For brunch, head to Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade, The Hoss + a limeade is the ultimate Sunday treat.
Chill, rest, and reset in the afternoon...
And if you have time before heading home? Drive out to the Bonneville Salt Flats for sunset. The reflection on the salt, the open sky—it’s one of the most breathtaking sights in Utah. Save this for your next trip to SLC or share it with someone planning a weekend escape.
