DEAN remains one of the most distinctive voices in Korean R&B. Since the release of his debut EP [130 mood : TRBL] in 2016, his catalog has continued to hold lasting weight across both R&B and hip-hop circles, with songs like “D (Half Moon),” “What 2 Do,” and “Bonnie & Clyde” helping define the mood and direction of that period. Beyond his solo work, he also appeared in the Show Me the Money universe as a producer on <Show Me the Money 6>, briefly extending his role within the wider Korean hip-hop landscape. His discography is also shaped by the breadth of his collaborations. In Korea, DEAN has worked with artists including ZICO, Crush, Heize, Gaeko, Taeyeon, and Yerin Baek, while internationally his credits include names such as Anderson .Paak, Eric Bellinger, Jeff Bernat, and Syd. At the same time, his long gaps between solo releases have become a defining part of how his career is viewed, with each return drawing renewed attention. That combination of a selective catalog, wide-ranging collaborations, and extended absence has made DEAN a singular figure within Korean R&B. #DEAN #KHIPHOP #KRNB #KPOP #HIPHOPKR Source: @colorsxstudios

가사 속 "Right now / Could I tell you right now / Till we die"와 같은 반복 구절은 현재의 감정과 관계의 끝을 마주한 화자의 고뇌와 위태로움을 극명하게 드러냅니다. © 에이팀아트리즈 | No copyright owned Find your new favorite song here

Released 10 years ago today, DEAN (@deantrbl)’s [130 Mood : TRBL] arrived as a debut EP that already sounded fully formed. Across seven tracks and 24 minutes, the project moves through “And You? (Outro),” “Pour Up” with ZICO, “Bonnie & Clyde,” “What 2 Do” with Crush and Jeff Bernat, “D (Half Moon)” with Gaeko, “I Love It” with Dok2, and “21,” bringing DEAN’s writing, vocals, and production into one tightly sequenced statement. The EP was presented as a connected narrative rather than a loose set of songs, with several tracks having been introduced before the full project dropped. Its impact was immediate. [130 Mood : TRBL] reached No. 10 on Korea’s Gaon Album Chart, No. 3 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, and No. 22 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart, while “Bonnie & Clyde” entered Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart at No. 12. Later that year, Billboard ranked the EP No. 5 on its list of the 10 Best K-pop Albums of 2016, and described it as an impressive debut that pushed R&B forward through its compositions and collaborations. The awards run made that breakout even clearer. “Pour Up” won Best R&B and Soul Song at the Korean Music Awards, [130 Mood : TRBL] was nominated for Best R&B and Soul Album at the 2017 Korean Music Awards, “21” was nominated for Best R&B and Soul Song, and “D (Half Moon)” won R&B Track of the Year at the Korean Hip-Hop Awards. For a debut project, it crossed critics’ lists, charts, and award circuits almost immediately, which is exactly why [130 Mood : TRBL] remains one of the defining releases in DEAN’s catalog. #DEAN #딘 #DEANTRBL #KHIPHOP #HIPHOPKR Source: youtube.com/official.onstage

Ten years on, DEAN (@deantrbl)’s [130 Mood : TRBL] still feels remarkably complete for a debut. Across seven tracks and 24 minutes, the EP pulled together “Pour Up,” “What 2 Do,” “D (Half Moon),” and “21” into a project that introduced DEAN not just as a vocalist, but as a songwriter and producer with a fully formed sound and point of view. The impact was immediate. [130 Mood : TRBL] reached No. 3 on Billboard’s World Albums chart and No. 22 on Heatseekers, and Billboard later named it one of the 10 best K-pop albums of 2016. “D (Half Moon)” won R&B Track of the Year at the Korean Hip-hop Awards, while the EP and “21” also picked up Korean Music Awards nominations. A decade later, it still stands as one of the defining debut releases of 2010s Korean R&B. #DEAN #딘 #KHIPHOP #KPOP #HiphopKR
