The University of Wyoming is the state’s only land-grant university. Since day one, we have been built to serve the people of Wyoming and offer a top notch education to our students. We are all about access to high-quality education, interdisciplinary research that makes a real impact here at home and strong partnerships with communities and industries across the state. From the classroom to the field to communities across Wyoming, we’re here to serve and we’re proud of it. 💛 #TheWorldNeedsMoreCowboys #IAmACowboy #UniversityOfWyoming #OneWyoming #GoPokes #GoWyo
It’s no secret that Wyoming’s most crucial asset is our natural resources. 🏔️ Our wide open plains and soaring mountains are prosperous for agriculture, tourism, minerals and, of course, outdoor recreation. Through collaborative research with statewide industries, the University of Wyoming is consistently training professionals in agriculture, wildlife and land management. We are dedicated to conserving these precious assets for future generations of Pokes! 🤠 #TheWorldNeedsMoreCowboys #IAmACowboy #UniversityOfWyoming #OneWyoming #GoPokes #GoWyo
Wyoming’s largest industry is energy and minerals, and the University of Wyoming is proud to help power its future. From preparing the next generation of industry leaders to advancing research in oil and gas recovery, minerals, nuclear and hydrogen energy, UW works hand in hand with partners across the state to strengthen Wyoming’s vital energy economy. ⚡️ Because what makes Wyoming strong makes UW strong. #TheWorldNeedsMoreCowboys #IAmACowboy #UniversityOfWyoming #OneWyoming #GoPokes #GoWyo
This week, Wyoming lawmakers are considering major budget cuts that could reshape the University of Wyoming. A proposed $40 million reduction to the university’s block grant has students and campus leaders mobilizing at the Capitol, warning the cuts could lead to layoffs and long-term impacts on higher education in the state. #universityofwyoming #ASUW #legislature
🎓 “If it’s just that one, then that’s all that matters.” At the University of Wyoming, the Graduate Certificate in Education provides a pathway for individuals with a bachelor’s degree to transition into teaching. Designed for both elementary and secondary education, the program allows students to apply their existing content knowledge while gaining the skills needed to become licensed educators. In as little as one year, graduates are prepared to enter classrooms, inspire students, and make a meaningful impact. Credits earned may also be applied toward a master’s degree in education for those who choose to continue their studies. 🎓 “I think that’s where the University of Wyoming is fundamentally different than so many of these other online programs because the idea is actually to provide as many vehicles for students to feel like the local on campus community, but do it from the comfort of their own home.” At the University of Wyoming, online programs in the College of Education are designed so students never feel disconnected from campus. Through Zoom advising, early mentorship, practicum experiences, and strong relationships with faculty and peers, online students receive the same level of support and sense of belonging as on campus learners. These programs make it possible to earn a teaching degree while staying rooted in your community without sacrificing connection or preparation. There is a disproportionately large cut to the college of engineering on the floor RIGHT NOW that could disrupt employers ability to hire talent FROM within the state. Contact your representative and let them know you support native education and hiring from Wyoming, for Wyoming. Key votes are happening, now is a good time to contact your local legislator! ⏰ Find them here —> https://www.wyomingbusinessalliance.com/contactyourlegislator
We were able to reverse the University of Wyoming's cuts, but only for 20 minutes until Rep. Bear put them back in. #uwyo #budget #wyoleg
Our @uofwyoming contributes to growing our economy. The revitalized College of Agriculture supports the Ag Initiative. The School of Energy Resources keeps our fossil fuel industries relevant. The Schools of Computing and Engineering are leaders in various fields. And the College of Education and Community Colleges lead the essential work in education and CTE. Now is not the time to ignore the vision set forth in our Wyoming Constitution regarding our land grant University. This is a case where simply cutting a budget won’t lead to improvement, but a dialogue could. I encourage the Wyoming House to restore my recommendation.

Witness the powerful impact of a UWO education! A massive 82% of last spring's graduates already had employment secured *before* walking across the stage. These Titans are stepping into high-demand sectors like healthcare, education, and manufacturing throughout the Fox Valley region. Even more impressive: 91% of in-state students remain in Wisconsin post-graduation, and an incredible 41% of out-of-state attendees choose to stay too!
