We left Lafkos today where we’ve had a wonderful four days exploring the south Pelion and headed up to Mouresi on the NE coast stopping on the way to explore the villages of Neochori, Milies, Vizitsa and Pinakates …
The church on the square in Milies was unbelievable - a plain unassuming facade (so not to upset the Ottomans) gave no hint of the treasures within, every surface was painted with frescos - there was the most amazing zodiac wheel which I’ve never seen in a church below, there are also rare icons of two Ethiopian Orthodox Saints which I struggled to find so something to look for next time
We headed onto Pinakates for lunch - which apparently has the smallest village square in The Pelion - as I’d heard that there was a really wonderful taverna in the square, which there was - the food @pinakoti_pinakoti food probably some of the best traditional Greek food we’ve ever had

6 days in Vizitsa.
This time in vacation i decided to draw something every day. Today i made a video of the process. Here are some tips about how i did this:
1. OBSERVE - take a few minutes, hours or even days to observe your subject. In my case, my room. I noticed the light, the window details. Took some pictures, but never draw a line.
2. After 4 days, i grabbed a pink pastel and started with a pink background. Now i could work with lights and not the shadows.
3. Little by little i created this layers of light and shadows until i reached a point where the atmosphere was created. In this drawing i was not interested in realism, but rather the atmosphere of the space.
