Some clips from the last 20 mins of my first day in Hookipa. Definitely far trickier than I thought with the current and rocks omnipresent in my mind. Super gusty wind with big lulls on the inside. More intimidating to risk it with a guaranteed swim after but slowly making progress on starboard tack and bogging less rails as I go 😂🤙 . Humbled by Hookipa 😅 turns out it’s far harder than it looks on camera. Pretty light solo-session in Lanes yesterday! Trying to sail as much starboard tack conditions as possible in this tricky Maui weather we had since I arrived!🤘👊 It was challenging to move around and catch speed, but my light wind combo is feeling great in the water 🔥 @severnewindsurfing S-1 Pro 5.2 and @starboardwindsurfing Hyper 88 (wish I brought the 93!!) Got injured yesterday while sailing… hoping it’s nothing serious🤞 I’m getting my foot checked today just to rule out any major injury.
