It’s always surreal when people send you clips of your own work… like, “this is still my favorite scene, or you were incredible in this!“Playing Cheyenne on #Insecure was truly a dream. One episode, one moment, and somehow she still lives rent-free in people’s hearts. That kind of impact never gets old.And what makes it even more special… is when people don’t immediately realize it’s the same woman who plays Priscilla on The Oval. #TheOvanOnBetThat’s the goal.To disappear.To transform.To become so fully someone else that you’re unrecognizable from role to role.As actors, we stretch, we shape-shift, we live a thousand lives. Okay, hear me out…I know Jupiter doesn’t tell Sawyer everything. Trust me, I’ve been reading the comments. 😂And honestly? Y’all aren’t wrong.She keeps a lot to herself.She tries to carry too much on her own. And she doesn’t always let the people who love her all the way in.But…If Jupiter Jones calls you and says, “Don’t come to the house.”DON’T COME TO THE HOUSE. 😩No follow-up questions. After all these years, I still have moments where I look around and think…“This is my job?” And honestly, I hope that feeling never goes away. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to rush past the moments that once felt impossible. One thing I’ve learned from playing Jupiter Jones…Never ignore that little voice telling you something isn’t adding up. You know the one. The feeling that something feels off.The story that doesn’t quite make sense. The detail everyone else seems to be overlooking.Jupiter has always trusted her instincts. And in this scene, she starts putting the pieces together. What I love about her is that she doesn’t need all the answers right away. She pays attention. She observes.She trusts herself enough to follow the breadcrumbs. Honestly, that’s something a lot of us could do more of.Sometimes your intuition picks up on things long before your mind can explain them. And when Jupiter gets that feeling?Whew. Nighttime Yap..If you had told me years ago that I would be on two television shows and you could watch me two nights a week, back to back, I’m not sure I would have fully believed you.But here I am.
