At our Union Day of Action this weekend, we trained 50 rank-and-file union members on electoral tactics and organizing.Before we launched our training, Unite Here Local 100 celebrated @aoc for her career in bartending with an emeritus membership. As a gig worker, she wasn’t unionized, which meant no healthcare, no job security, and no coalition fighting to increase her wages.@uniteherelocal100 represents food service and hospitality workers across New York and New Jersey. Its members perform the essential work that drives our city and keeps restaurants, hotels, airports, and entertainment venues going.Over the weekend six unions gathered with us to strengthen their organizing skills for the fights ahead. A better world is possible and strong labor unions are essential to building it. by @teamaoc

Happy Queens Pride!Every year we show up with resilient joy and march together for Queens Pride. It’s a chance to celebrate the love and strength of our LGBTQ+ siblings while continuing the fight for equality and visibility.Since its founding in 1993, Queens Pride has been a cornerstone of New York City’s LGBTQ+ movement, growing into the city’s second-oldest and second-largest Pride parade. Yesterday, we joined forces with Assemblymember Karines Reyes to hold a Union Day of Action in the Bronx.It’s no secret the dire time that we are in but when we organize, we build power.Coming together this weekend was about sharpening those organizing skills, connecting with our communities, and turning that energy into votes. Yesterday was just the beginning.We’re preparing not only for this primary, but for the fights ahead because we need to flip the house this November. We’re getting these skills and we’re getting on a bus to our neighbors in Westchester, Long Island and Pennsylvania. As voting rights face challenges in parts of the country, it’s up to all of us to do our part, expand participation, and build the coalition needed to win.With just over two weeks until the primary, every conversation and every door matters. Today we held a Latinos for Queens Day of Action in Jackson Heights. Latinos have long been at the heart of Queens and our political power should reflect that. Alongside Jessica González-Rojas, Brian Romero, and Catalina Cruz, we spent the day talking with our neighbors and going door to door, sharing information, and making sure our community is informed and engaged.Early voting is just three weeks away, and we have an opportunity to elect leaders who will challenge the status quo, fight for working families, and deliver for the communities that make Queens strong. by @teamaoc
