“The Gonz was skating in the rain at the skatepark in Stoke and he did some hairball shit just by himself.He did all of that stuff and we were about to do a…” - @bencolen The Gonz’s Boardslide at Stoke in the rain still gets us hyped but it reminded us of all the other gnarly clips that we’ve seen of him shredding spots when it’s wet on the floor or in the middle of a downpour. Whatever the weather, he just goes for it even more. From his dope tricks with an umbrella in his hand, creative Hippy Jump slide on that bench and stylish Slappy 50-50 while getting seriously drenched, no amount of rain or potential pain stops Gonz from getting on his grind, so we had to give ‘em a rewind. “Who has your favourite style on a skateboard?Not really too sure anymore. I like to watch anyone who looks like they’re having fun you know, someone skating fast or in a different way, like hitting rogue non-spots.I guess any New York style skater, or Liverpool skater. Liverpool ain’t too much different than New York haha Central Park was based off Birkenhead park as well so.But also @steviewilliams has always been a favourite of mine, and obviously @epmdave” - @coreybartlesandersonMackey hits spots at high speed with a unique steez carved shredding rough streets that can’t be copied. What was the first video part you watched that really stoked you out?Watch and listen to @dlakastan’s Word Up as he explains how seeing @tommyguerrero bomb hills and shred banks all over SF in Future Primitive, in the first-ever street skating part, got him hyped at the time to not just give it a rewind but to go out on his board and to learn all the tricks that he saw himself. “Who’ll be featuring in future Skate Tales episodes?We’re still planning for next season. I guess we will have three episodes next season, every season at least. But there’s no precise destination. We’re always down.
