Neighbors, get into it! YouTuber Jesse Ridgway and his wife Ashley say they’ve now seen the “darkest side of humanity” after publicly sharing their decision to terminate a pregnancy due to the fetus being diagnosed with Down syndrome.

We previously shared the story where Jesse explained why they chose to end the pregnancy. He said they had been hopeful after the diagnosis, believing that “If they’re [the child] a little slow intellectually, then we’ll make it work. I signed on to be a parent, come what may...but I just didn’t fully understand what Down syndrome entailed.”

He even posted a message directly to his fans with autism and Down syndrome: “You matter a lot and we’re glad you’re here.” But he also stated that “Down Syndrome isn’t a ‘blessing,’ it is objectively sh**ty from a health perspective —- I didn’t realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family...more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life.”

That all didn’t go over well obviously, as Jesse says they’ve now endured a lot of judgement and he sleeps with his gun next to him.
