5 stars across the board. Here’s why. ★★★★★

Every 18A Fitness program has one job: getting you Selected.

I failed my first SFAS. I went back, earned my Green Beret, and later got selected again as an 18A. Then I spent 7+ years as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for USAF Special Warfare, preparing candidates for A&S. Every program is built from that experience:

🔹 SFAS: rucking, land nav endurance, strength, mobility and mental toughness, built for the demands of Camp Mackall
🔹 Ranger: 16 weeks of running and rucking progressions that build the engine RASP and Ranger School demand
🔹 SW Prep: cals, running, swimming, and a daily breath and mobility routine for future CCT, PJs and SR
🔹 TACP : event-specific training, with daily breathwork built into TACP Prep
🔹 SOF Prep: straight off the couch? Start here and build the foundation
🔹 Custom Plan: built from your current scores, with monthly check-ins and a nutrition plan

Every program puts injury prevention first, because you can’t get Selected from the sidelines.

Need adjustments? Coach Edge is always monitoring the app. Log your notes, ask your questions, and I’ll tweak your training when life, injuries or schedules get in the way. You’re never training alone.

Read the reviews. Then go earn your own.

Client win: EFMB earned. 🏅

Huge congrats to Jaxon, who just finished two weeks of testing and earned his Expert Field Medical Badge, one of the toughest badges in the Army. Most candidates don’t make it.

EFMB tests you on:
🩸 TCCC lanes under stress
📝 The written exam
🧭 Day and night land nav
🎒 A 12-mile ruck against the clock

He did it while following my 16-Week SFAS Program. That program is built to make you durable and fit for rucking, and to get you ready for the standard on test day. Two weeks of back-to-back events demands exactly that.

What I respect most: the badge was last week, and he’s already back on the grind today. No victory lap. On to the next one, SFAS 2027!

If you’ve got a selection, a school, or a badge on your calendar, you can’t decide to show up ready the week before. You have to build it.

SUT is where the Q-Course finds out whether you can think while you’re smoked.

Rally points, ORPs, leader’s recons, near and far ambushes. You’ll run them all, over and over. Every night you crawl into the patrol base, knock out the priorities of work, and get a few hours down if you’re lucky. Then you wake up and do it again.

The guys who struggle usually aren’t the ones who don’t know the tactics. They’re the ones whose bodies quit, so their brains quit next.

I failed SUT the first time. I came back and earned it. Don’t give the cadre a reason.

Mom’s trying her best, but this kid already gets it. Cigarette in his mouth, a bottle in hand, and the look of a man who’s just come off a long rotation.

Somehow he already knows what the rest of us had to learn the hard way: nothing else compares to being a Green Beret. No other job, life, or experience comes close. The mission, the team, the brotherhood, and yes, the R&R too.

Respect to the little guy. He’ll be at SFAS soon enough. 😂

To all you dirty legs out there, have a safe and wonderful Halloween. Watch out for the trick-or-treaters, and save some candy for the team room. 🍬

De Oppresso Liber.

Thanks Eric 🤛

Selection doesn’t care how fit you were in week one. It cares what’s still working when you’re tired, wet and under a ruck.

Most of what sends candidates home isn’t heart. It’s shins, knees, hips and backs that were never trained through their full range.

Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) are slow, controlled circles through each joint’s biggest pain-free range. Eight to ten minutes a day: neck, shoulders, spine, hips, knees, ankles. 2–3 slow reps each direction, each side. Before PT, before every ruck, on rest days.

Get selected. Stay in the fight longer.

After my last post about a former client earning his Green Beret, two more messages came in the same day. 📲

The first:

“Hey sir, I know it’s been a while, but thanks to your program, I passed Ranger School.”

Rangers Lead the Way! 🎖️

The second hit differently. A former one-on-one client reached out to let me know that he wasn’t able to don a beret. He was medically disqualified by the Air Force, the Army, the Marine Corps, and the Navy. Even with waivers, they all said no. He still took the time to thank me and give me the update.

I want to be honest about this: not everyone makes it. Sometimes it’s selection, sometimes it’s injury, and sometimes it’s something completely out of your control. That’s okay.

What matters is that he tried. He put in the work, chased the goal, and gave it everything he had. That puts him ahead of the countless people who only talk about doing it and never step up.

Brother, you have nothing to be ashamed of. The discipline and grit you built along the way don’t disappear just because a door closed. They’ll carry you into whatever comes next. And that cup of coffee? The offer still stands. ☕ (It might have to be decaf on my end. 😅)

To everyone chasing a goal right now: your outcome isn’t always in your hands, but your effort always is. Show up anyway.

Messages like this are what keep me going. 🙏

I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now, and every time I hear that my program helped someone earn their Green Beret, it fills my heart with joy.

You didn’t owe me a message, brother. You did the work. You put in the miles, the rucks, and the early mornings when nobody was watching. I just gave you the plan.

Welcome to the Regiment. 🟩

Now remember, the standards are still high. The Beret isn’t the finish line, it’s the starting point. Keep training, keep learning, and take care of your team.

Proud of you.

There's 347 things to consider when making such a choice.

Maybe some of them will be highlighted in the comments.

Making graphics that could possibly help someone is a way for me to focus here in the campground.

I'm absolutely fried and thinking about something other than driving is relaxing.

I've run into many a National Guard GB over the last 2 years and one phrase that comes up often is:

"I wish I knew about this world when I was active"

Or something like that.

All the information is out there.

Be good, my friends.

The Givebutter campaign has been an absolutely incredible display and outpouring of support for the lan’s family and our commitment remains that 100% of those funds go directly to the family.

We’re asking you to now help in supporting the TACPs left behind who also need support through this event. Purchasing a shirt is a meaningful way to help.
ALL proceeds will go to the TACP Foundation and our efforts to support those teammates left behind.
Our brotherhood shows up for one another, and we’re grateful to @jtarticle15 and @ninelineapparel who created an incredible design for this effort. Please consider buying a shirt and sharing with your networks.

3–4 rounds of 30–40 deep breaths → exhale and hold → one recovery breath.

What it does: The fast breathing blows off CO2, so you can hold your breath longer. It doesn’t load you up with oxygen. Your oxygen actually drops during the hold. What it trains is staying calm under stress, and it gives you a sharp, alert adrenaline hit before training.

What it won’t do: Make you faster or stronger. It’s a mental tool, not a cheat code.

⚠️ CAUTION:
🚫 Never in water. Breath holds can make you black out with no warning, and people have drowned.
🚫 Never while driving.
🪑 Always sit or lie down.
🩺 Check with your doctor first if you’re pregnant or have heart issues, high blood pressure, seizures or a history of fainting.
😵 Feel faint? Stop and breathe normally.

Use the tool right or it’ll bite you.

25

Oldest I've heard is 51.

Youngest was 19.

At least, that's the rumor.

Don't listen to me or anyone else.

If it's bothering you now, it'll bother you later and you're the only one who will have to live with either decision.

I have 1 friend from 20 years ago.

Everyone else and their opinions have faded away.

Be good, my friends.
