🏀🥀 END OF AN ERA 🥀🏀 After years of blood, sweat, jumpers, questionable pickup calls, and enough cardio to last a lifetime… the LA Fitness chapter has officially come to an end. 😭😂 I’m taking my talents to the YMCA. ✍🏾🏀 This wasn’t an easy decision. LA Fitness wasn’t just a gym. It was a proving ground. Friendships were made. Family was reconnected. Legends were born. Arguments over whether that was actually a foul lasted 45 minutes. 😂 And the résumé speaks for itself: 🏆 All-Time Scoring Leader in Puyallup 🎯 Most 3’s Made in a Single Game 💬 3× Group Chat Moderator of the Year 🩹 Played with a broken hand and went completely left-handed 🤚🏾 All-Time Leader in Opposite-Hand Made 3-Pointers Records may be broken. Legacies are forever. 😂🐐 I’ll always appreciate LA Fitness for the memories and the growth, but I cannot stand silently while the Shoot 360 era pushes out the real hoopers. 😭 If Kobe could see what y’all did to LA… Big bro would NOT be pleased. 🐍💜💛 Now it’s time for a new challenge. The YMCA offered an opportunity for growth, development, and a chance to provide a better future for me and my family. After long negotiations, prayer, and consultation with my representatives, the deal is done. 🤝🏾😂 To my teammates, opponents, random old heads with elite midrange games, and everybody who ever yelled “WE GOT NEXT!”… Thank you. 🫡 LA Fitness built part of the player. YMCA gets the free agent. ✍🏾🔥 A new chapter begins. 🐍 MAMBA OUT. 🐐 JORDAN OUT. 🎩 TRIXSTER IS OUT TOO. #EndOfAnEra #ThankYouLAFitness #FreeAgency #YMCA #TakingMyTalentsElsewhere BasketballLife Hoopers PickupBasketball 24Eight Trixster by @24_8_hoopleague
🏆 Are you a TEAM PLAYER… or just a player on the team? There is a huge difference. A player on the team asks: “What can this team do for me?” A team player asks: “What can I do to help this team win?” The truth is, basketball has never been about five great individuals. It’s always been about one connected unit. One of the greatest examples in NBA history was the San Antonio Spurs dynasty led by Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan is widely regarded as one of the greatest power forwards ever, yet he built his legacy by doing something many superstars struggle to do: He sacrificed. He took less money so the Spurs could keep championship-caliber teammates. He never demanded the spotlight. He celebrated teammates just as much as his own accomplishments. That culture spread throughout the organization. Whether it was Tony Parker making the extra pass, Manu Ginóbili coming off the bench despite being an All-Star caliber player, or role players diving on the floor for loose balls… Nobody cared who got the credit. They cared who got the trophy. 🏆 That’s why the Spurs became one of the greatest dynasties basketball has ever seen. Here’s the reality… 🏀 Selfish players might win highlights. 🏆 Selfless teams win championships. T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More Every championship locker room is built on sacrifice. Sometimes your biggest contribution isn’t scoring 30 points. Sometimes it’s setting the screen. Making the extra pass. Taking the toughest defensive assignment. Cheering louder than anyone from the bench. Holding your teammates accountable with love. Because when the team wins… Everybody wins. At 24/8 Hoop League, we’re building more than basketball players. We’re building leaders, teammates, and a community that understands something bigger than the scoreboard: The name on the front of the jersey has to matter more than the name on the back. ❤️🏀 👇 Question of the Day: What’s one thing that makes someone a GREAT teammate, even if it never shows up in the box score? Let’s hear your thoughts! ⬇️ by @24_8_hoopleague
Stop trying to become the next LeBron James. There will never be another King James. But here’s something just as true… There will never be another YOU either. Too many players spend years chasing someone else’s story instead of writing their own. One of the best examples is Stephen Curry. Coming out of high school, he wasn’t a five-star recruit. Major programs overlooked him because he was considered too small and not athletic enough. Instead of trying to become the next Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, he leaned into what made him different. He perfected his shooting. He embraced creativity. He trusted his own path. Years later, with the Golden State Warriors, he didn’t just become a champion. He changed the way the game is played forever. Imagine if Curry had spent his career trying to play like someone else. Basketball would have lost Stephen Curry. The same is true for you. 🏀 God didn’t create you to be a copy. 🏀 He created you with gifts nobody else possesses. 🏀 Your assignment is not to imitate greatness. 🏀 Your assignment is to discover it within yourself. The truth is… The dream is never better than reality. Because once you stop chasing another person’s destiny, you finally have the freedom to walk in your own. Maybe you’ll never have LeBron’s size. Maybe you’ll never have Curry’s shot. Maybe you’ll never have Allen Iverson’s handle. But you can become the absolute best version of yourself. And that’s enough. In fact… That might be exactly what the basketball world needs. 🙏🏀 At 24/8 Hoop League, we don’t celebrate clones. We celebrate competitors who embrace who they are, work relentlessly, and inspire others to do the same. 💬 Question of the Day: If nobody compared you to another player… What would YOU want to be remembered for on the basketball court? 👇 #248HoopLeague #Basketball #BasketballLife #BasketballCulture #BallIsLife CommunityBasketball Hoopers BasketballTraining PlayerDevelopment TrustTheProcess BeYourself PurposeDriven SportsMotivation FaithAndHoops HardWorkPaysOff BasketballCommunity HoopDreams NextUp WashingtonBasketball TacomaBasketball AthleteMindset G by @24_8_hoopleague
🏀 The lights don’t make the player… the empty gym does. Everyone dreams of playing in front of thousands of fans. Packed arenas. Cameras flashing. Crowd roaring after every bucket. But what most people don’t see are the thousands of hours that happen when nobody is watching. One of the greatest examples is Kobe Bryant. Long before the sold-out arenas and five NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe built a reputation for arriving at the gym at 4:00 a.m. He wasn’t chasing attention. He was chasing improvement. While others were sleeping, he was getting up hundreds of shots, working on footwork, conditioning, and the little details that don’t show up on Instagram. That’s what became known as the “Mamba Mentality.” The lesson wasn’t to wake up at 4 a.m. The lesson was this: 👉 Success isn’t built under the bright lights. It’s built long before they ever turn on. Too many people want the applause without the preparation. The followers without the foundation. The highlights without the habits. 🏀 In order to perform in front of big crowds, you must first perform in front of no crowds. Those empty gyms… Those lonely workouts… Those missed shots… Those early mornings… Those late nights… They are all deposits into the player you’re becoming. Some people take elevators looking for overnight success. 🚶🏽‍♂️ Most champions take the stairs. One step. One workout. One rep. One practice. One day at a time. Because elevators can break… But stairs build stronger legs. 💪🏽 At 24/8 Hoop League, we celebrate the grind just as much as the game. Every bucket on game day started with a rep that nobody clapped for. 🔥 Keep climbing. 🏀 Keep working. 📈 Your audience will grow when your craft does. 👇 Question of the Day: What’s one part of your game you’re working on right now that nobody sees? 🏀 There may be one MVP on every team… but not every team needs an MVP. Basketball has always been bigger than the box score. One of the greatest examples came during the 2014 NBA Finals. Everyone expected the spotlight to belong to superstars. Instead, the game belonged to a team. The ball moved. The extra pass was made. Screens were set. Defensive rotations were perfect. Players celebrated each other’s success instead of chasing their own. No one averaged 30. No one had to. The result? One of the most dominant Finals performances basketball has ever seen. That’s the beauty of the game. 💯 The loudest player isn’t always the most valuable. 💯 The leading scorer isn’t always the biggest reason you win. 💯 Every championship team is built by people who embrace their role. Your contribution matters. Maybe you’re the scorer. Maybe you’re the defender. Maybe you’re the rebounder. Maybe you’re the one diving for loose balls. Maybe you’re the teammate keeping everyone locked in. Whatever your role is… Own it. Because when everyone contributes, everyone wins. 🏆 At 24/8 Hoop League, we celebrate more than highlights. We celebrate hustle, sacrifice, leadership, communication, and the players who make winning possible even when their name isn’t at the top of the stat sheet. 🏀 Find your contribution. 🔥 Commit to it. 🤝 Elevate the people around you. Because championships aren’t built by one MVP. They’re built by a team that understands every role has value. 👇 Question of the day: What’s one contribution you bring to a basketball team that doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet? 👀 #248HoopLeague #BasketballCulture #CommunityBasketball #BasketballLife #Hoopers TeamFirst BallIsLife TacomaBasketball WashingtonBasketball HoopDreams BasketballCommunity PlayYourRole WinningCulture MoreThanBuckets by @24_8_hoopleague
