A proven three-level scorer with multiple low- and mid-major offers, Matthews consistently put pressure on defenses with his ability to create his own shot, score in bunches, and take over stretches of the game. His offensive arsenal and confidence with the ball made him one of the most dangerous guards on the floor throughout the weekend.

With his scoring ability and experience, Matthews is set to be a major piece for the Texans as they look to make another deep run this sophomore season.

6’4” Guard Damond Matthews of South Plains College is officially locked in for the P32 JUCO Showcase in Memphis, Tennessee.

Matthews averaged 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting 46% from the field, establishing himself as one of the top guards in the country. A versatile playmaker who can score, facilitate, rebound, and impact winning on both ends of the floor.
