POSTS STORIES REELS
Hi my name is Mandy! I played college golf many years ago and now I just play for the love of the game. I’m chasing a new goal as a gift to myself: play 50 new courses before I turn 50 next year
. And then 50 more after that. ⛳ by @50tracksfor50years
𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚. 𝟓𝟎 ⛳ ~ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐊 𝐃𝐚𝐲: Nov. 3rd - fall sun and warmth - perfect weather☀ 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: Collaboration- PGA tour player Zac Blair and architects Tom Doak & Kye Golby. 🀝 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 1⃣The opening Par 3 is fantastic and intimidating -I loved it 🀩- really amazing looking and challenging hole. The entire back 9 is great - too many awesome holes to pick a favorite. I will say the 3 finishing holes are INCREDIBLE . 1⃣6⃣ Very fun Long Par 5 w/ a large and challenging punch bowl green. For guys number 1⃣8⃣ is pretty fun as it’s driveable. I witnessed a phenomenal Eagle 🊅 by Fish 🐟 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: The Tree Farm is carved out of an actual tree farm. I love the Doak designing with zero rough. Super gorgeous course that is very secluded and full of ridges, valleys and a ton of trees 🌲🌳🌲🪟This was my first course out of the 50 new that I’ve seen grass bunkers. I loved the tree monster signs 🪧 and the logo is the BEST !!! - There is very unique stump on 18 tee for logo ball markers - it was fun to recognize many courses I’ve played and to add a few from Michigan. 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: 41-43 for an 84. Not too shabby 🀷🏻‍♀ I was happy with the score. I had a lot of great Pars - no birdies. Doubled 13 - False front got me two days in a row 😀 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Oh my 💰!! I splurged in this shop !!! It was my 50th course I had to 🀓. Towel / Hat / Jacket / Yeti shot glasses / Balls / Glove 🧀. Happy 50th to me 👏🏻 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Golf Digest 3rd🥉 “Best New Private Course” in 2024. #4⃣ Best in State. #130 Second 100 Greatest. (I predict this ranking to improve with some time- it just opened in late 2023). 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝: Meals at The Tree Farm were top notch. The food and service was fantastic and simple. There’s just one menu option for each meal so you know it’s going to be delicious and done right. 🍔 The space is really amazing. I hope to visit again someday. 🙏🏻. I could not have asked for a better opportunity to wrap up my 50 🆕 Courses for the year. It’s been the best golf year of my life. ❀ #golfaddict #thatsawrap #thetreefarm #tomdoak by @50tracksfor50years
𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚. 𝟒𝟖 - 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐊𝐚 🇪🇞 𝐃𝐚𝐲: Wednesday October 8th - Couldn’t ask for better weather. Southern Spain in October is 🀌🏌🀌🏌. ☀ 🌊🍷🫏 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: Robert Trent Jones 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 4⃣ Named “La Cascada” aka the waterfall. Long narrow Par 5 with a very challenging approach shot to the green. A beautiful waterfall is on the right side and a large bunker on the left. Seve 1⃣7⃣- this hole was redesigned by Seve Ballesteros specifically for the Ryder Cup 🏆and it is incredible. It has a raised well guarded green ⛳ and a beautiful bridge that reminds me of Augusta. 17 was a favorite hole despite my double !!! 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Incredible course. Tight fairways lined with Cork trees and Olive trees. You can see the Mediterranean Sea 🌊 and the Rock 🪚 of Gibraltar 🇬🇮 from some of the holes. The views - condition of course - layout of holes - history in clubhouse - everything was top-notch. This course is sometimes referred to as “Augusta of Europe”. I’d really love more than anything to compare the two myself 👏🏻 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: I love this type of course - walking 🚶 only with fantastic Caddies on a Championship rated course with speedy ⚡greens. 4⃣1⃣ on front and 4⃣5⃣ on back. 8⃣6⃣. I doubled the last two finishing holes 😕 - had a great round going. I got over it quick - Best round and favorite of the trip 💯 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Jacket/Putter cover /🔑chain/ 👚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: 1997 Ryder Cup Venue 🏆 Home of 16 Volvo masters, 2 AMEX championships. ☝ Number one in Spain. 🇪🇞. 🌎 Top 💯 in World. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚. 𝟕𝟖 ⛳ - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲: Sept. 14th 🍁 Sunny ☀ Warm & Beautiful 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: Dick Nugent 1992 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 1⃣5⃣Church Steeple ⛪ on Horizon & 1⃣7⃣Par 3 with dramatic brick wall pond and river with bridge. There is no room for error here. Pretty details - Honestly the stretch of holes 13-17 were pretty solid. 👌🏌 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: The course is a great option for tournaments. 🏆 There are some attractive holes with a lot of fescue and water. Several bunkers guard the ⛳ holes as well. 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Played in a 2-Person ✌🏌GAM scramble with my golf buddy Colleen🫶🏻. We were the only full 🏌🏌‍♀🏌🏌‍♀ladies team. We couldn’t make our short putts but had fun working together 🀝and enjoying the course. My First GAM event in over 25 years. 🀩 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Sadly didn’t find anything. They had a tiny little ladies rack out in the hall on clearance. Nothing in the Proshop 😂😂 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Golfpass ranked #1 in Michigan public courses and 7th in the U.S. Nationally. PGA Teacher and Coach of year Kyle Martin 2024 🏆and Bill Strausbaugh award 2026. Front 9 is the inside of the course and the back nine circles all around the perimeter. The original clubhouse was an 1844 Greek Revival farmhouse known as the Wooster House. 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: I wouldn’t allow myself to do my ⛳flag pic 😆Out of 77 new courses in the last 16 months 🗓this is the worst golf round I’ve had 😭. I was short on half the holes - just couldnt get it to feel good or solid today - wish I could have a redo - such a nice, beautiful and playable course 🀩. 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Cool Greyson Sleeveless shirt 🐺 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬:1953 PGA Championship host. No. 32 in MI. A multi-year renovation completed in 2022 by Bruce Hepner restored and emphasized the original Bendelow design. 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 1⃣2⃣- Par 4 -creek throughout hole - tight and very scenic 🌳 . 1⃣4⃣ Creek in front of green made for challenging approach- love the bridges. 1⃣6⃣ Interesting tee shot over fountain for the guys 🏌🏌🏜‍♂The finish holes were called the Green Mile ⛳-great finishing holes for betting 🎰💰- tighter holes needing accurate tee-shots and placement. 🎯 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Loved the view in distance of hills between Nashville and Franklin. Well groomed and interesting water features ⛲. Property features the historic antebellum Midway mansion as its clubhouse dating back to 1840s. Had a really cool tour at the end of our day. 🙌🏌 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Played pretty good with the exception of doubling the first hole and the last hole. Had two birdies 🐊 on the front. 80- 40-40 ⛳ 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Long sleeve 👚- Ahead Casuals - so cozy 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝: Lunch at the clubhouse - thank you Dave :) there’s nothing like southern hospitality. ❀ NJ will be in good hands. #tennesseegolf #brentwoodtn #southernhospitality #golfaddict by @50tracksfor50years
𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚. 𝟕𝟓 - ⛳ 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 - 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲: Sept. 2 - HOT 100 degrees feels like 106 - too hot to finish 🥵 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: 1992 Bob Cupp and Tom Kite (1992 US Open champion) ⭐ 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 7⃣ - Par 4 Blind tee shot - tons of humps and bumps hills - one of the toughest holes -handicap 3 Second shot needs to be accurate. 🎯 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: The South Course is the home course for Vanderbilt University’s men’s 🏌🏜‍♂ and women’s 🏌🏌‍♀ golf teams. The course is routed around historic Roper’s Knob hillside which creates variety in terrain and elevation changes. There is wooded areas 🌲 , open areas and very lumpy rolling fairways as well. Most of the greens ⛳ sloped back to front- there were definitely some interesting greens. Good recommendation is to keep the ball below the hole on the greens here. 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Played quite well good 🐊 birdie on 3. Shot 39 on front. It was 100 🔥 degrees we couldn’t finish 🥵 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Vandy Hat 🧢 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Golfweek “Best Campus Courses No. 28” Host to SEC Women’s Golf Championship, U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, LPGA Events, U.S. Senior Open qualifying and other significant competitions. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 ⛳ 𝐍𝐚. 𝟕𝟒 - 𝐖𝐚𝐀𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐃𝐚𝐲: Aug 29 -Started cool and rainy 🌧 ended Hot Muggy Windy ☀ 💚 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: 1922 William Langford and Theadore Moreau. Major recent restoration Tyler Rae - 2024 🀌🏌 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 1⃣2⃣ - Island Green surrounded by sand. I’ve never seen a green completely surrounded by sand - pretty interesting Langford style requiring a near perfect approach shot. 1⃣4⃣- All uphill Par 3 - water is in play, a split contoured green and one of the toughest holes on the course. 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Very large plateau greens. ⛳ Sand traps (many of them very steep faced) were in excellent shape - all part of the redo a few years ago ⭐ . I saw at least two bunkers with wood planked cart paths that you drive right through the sand trap - I’ve never seen this before. Definitely need strategic placement to follow fairway lines here - it would have been difficult if I didn’t have Dianna giving us the aim points. 🎯 Downtown Des Moines skyline 🏙 in view - very close to airport. ✈ 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Birdied No. 3 and Nice 🐊 Bird on 17. 82 - 41-41 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Green zip ⬆ - Smith & Quinn 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Ranked ☝1⃣Best in State multiple times (1985-1995 and 1999-2001.) Great bunkers and uphill climb to green next to clubhouse. 1⃣1⃣& 1⃣2⃣were a completely diff vibe than the front nine. 11 Par 4 with long paths and bridges - Cool trees 🌳 line left side of 12 uphill & huge traps- 1⃣8⃣Par 5 -Curves and hugs all the way around water -need 3 precise shots. 🎯 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Had opportunity to see the work put into grooming and getting the course ready in the mornings- 🌅The course has rolling hills, prairie, wetlands and even lakes on property - Loved the church pew bunkers on Hole 2- reminded me of Oakmont (Still need to play here). All the holes have names - e.g. 15 is named Big Hog🐷 because of the massive bunker- which is a nod to Pine Valley’s famous Hell’s Acre bunker🔥 (still need to play here too ). Approach shots and putting were very challenging. Very beautiful and well manicured course. Top Notch Service 🀌🏌 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Had the luxury of getting in 3 rounds here. Battled wind 💚 the first day and played average but had the BEST Caddie Benito. Day 2-completely off day- just didn’t play well - Day 3- I paid attention to my notes and tried to tackle the course - 79. 🙌🏌 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: Greyson shirt 👚 , pull over and zip up sweatshirt- great fall colors 🐺 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Golf Digest - Ranked #1 in Iowa ☝. Second 💯 Greatest nationally. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚. 𝟕𝟐 - 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐮 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 8/17 Beautiful Sunny ☀ summer day 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: Arnold Palmer 🍹 ☂ 1995 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(𝐬): 4⃣ Really cool elevation here -Par 4 - much different than first 3 holes. 8⃣🀩 Signature hole (Par 5) and it’s obvious why. Really dramatic downhill hole from the highest point of the course (Great photo 📞 spot). Views of Manitou Passage, North Manitou Island and lighthouse. No. 1 handicap hole for both men and women. 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Loved this retreat into the meadows, trees, views of Manitou Passage and great elevation changes. I never knew this course existed and it’s beautiful. Saw turkeys 🊃, Chipmunks 🐿 and a ton of Monarch butterflies 🊋. The Arnies Grill room had a lot of great historic photos of players esp Palmer. The course was in excellent shape. There are really long winding cart paths with a ton of elevation change. Felt like a nature ride though the woods. There was so much contrast here I loved how different all the holes were - from forest 🌳 lined- to wetlands, downhill holes and some open holes. A ton of variety. I recommend a visit. The fall would be especially pretty. 🍁 🍂 🍃 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Played pretty well here - had a lot of Pars 🙌🏌- no birdies 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: 2010 Golf weeks BEST new courses - Considered Arnold “Signature” course. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝: Burger 🍔 and Arnold Palmer on the 18th green Terrace. Really fun to watch some friends finish that I unexpectedly ran into here. ❀ #sleepingbeardunes #arnoldpalmer #50tracks by @50tracksfor50years
𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 ⛳𝐍𝐚. 𝟕𝟏 - 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐒𝐔: 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲: August 10 - Hot & Partly Sunny ☀ 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: Original design - W.Bruce Matthews 1958 — Extensively redesigned by Michigan State alumnus, Arthur Hills, in 1992 💚 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞(s): 8⃣, 9⃣, 1⃣7⃣ & 1⃣8⃣ Loved the looks of these holes and the challenges they offered. No. 9 stood out - Elevated tee - Par 3 with a creek you must carry. Great stone bridge. Bunkers on the right and a Huge tree 🌳 on the left protecting the tricky green. ⛳ 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Love all the MSU gear and options 🧢 👚 in the large proshop. This course is definitely a college championship venue - it has hosted a great deal of Division I through III and High school events as well. It is considered the home course for both Michigan State’s men’s 🏌🏜‍♂ and women’s golf teams 🏌🏌‍♀ . I haven’t played this course since I was in college - the scenery is more beautiful than I remember. 🌳 The land was donated under the agreement it remains Audubon- a ton of native trees and grasses. The course is very challenging 🙌🏌- I remember it being way more difficult back then but I also have much shorter yardage now. 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: I love that my golf partner made me walk and carry my bag here - it was a full circle moment as I hadn’t played here and carried for 25 years. Loved to see Cherie birdie the first hole 👏🏻 I Played pretty good. 41-39 Had three great birdies 🐊 on the back 9. Last hole was great -I put the ball close to pin 📍 on my approach shot — it made the group in front of us stop and wait so they could do a birdie shot if I made my putt. 🍻 Turns out I met the coolest lady that played for OSU back in the 70s. See photo :) 𝐏𝐫𝐚-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝: MSU Sweatshirt and Rain Jacket ☔ 🧥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Best Campus Courses 2018, 2019, 2020, & 2022 (GolfWeek Magazine). 2024 Top 25 Best College Courses (West Course #3) - GolfPass 2014-2025 Top 50 Public Range - Golf Range Association of America 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝: Split a Snicker Bar with one of my favorite golf buddies 🥰 🍫 #collegegolfcourse #golfbuddy⛳ #gogreen💚 by @50tracksfor50years

Love the finishing hole. Ends with water hazard. Tricky tee-shot with landing and the approach shot to green more difficult. Definitely the most interesting hole. Loved the fake gator 🐊 in the pond. 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: The most welcoming and relaxed public course I’ve played. Located near Sleeping Bear Dunes 🐻 — The course was so welcoming to my dog 🐶- what a great way to celebrate Course Number 7⃣0⃣ - and have a round with my best furry friend 🐕 . Even thought its is near M-72 🛣each hole feels very secluded and serene 🌳 🌳 - You wind through the woods and have that Northern Michigan feel through out. One of the sand traps had two grass plants growing in the middle of the trap - I have not seen this before at any other course in this journey - Super tree lined. Great vacation course - if you want to run out and play some casual golf for fun. 🀩 𝐇𝐚𝐰 𝐈 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝: Played Great 👍🏌 — Maybe the 🐶 is my good luck charm ☘. Doubtful I can bring her to most courses I play but I sure wish I could. 🙏🏻 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Strong Local Reputation-⭐ good value💵, scenic and a great setting. 🌲 🌳 Relaxed up ⬆ north character and value rather than Formal awards. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝: Dog treat 🊎for Momo and Water. Happy Dog = Happy Life 😊 #golfdog #newcourse #golfjourney⛳ by @50tracksfor50years
