Really stoked to get the win🥇at St Sunday mountain race last Saturday.

Shortened course due to a high risk of lightning storms dropped the route down to 30 km / 1500m climb. I won't lie, I threw my toys out the pram a bit a couple of days before.
A message from @stevehopwood22 that read along the lines of 'adjusting and motivating yourself when plans change is really hard and sometimes means you have to dig deeper than you would originally have' helped me to pull my head out my arse and turn up to try even harder.
Pushed hard from the start and managed to hold on. The hardest I've ever pushed.

What a day. 65km/4000m ^ /3rd🥉
UTMR 65K was a beast. Feeling incredibly lucky to be able to spend loads of time journeying through these amazing mountains, pushing myself for no reason other than the fact I love it.
Happy to come away with a hard fought 3rd and coming in only 12 mins shy of last years CR. I couldn't have done it without the support of the main man @stevehopwood and my secret weapon @livvrw.
A great way to round off 3 weeks out in the Alps. 1 more to go

Last Sunday we had our 3rd installment of our Yoga x Fell running workshop.

A 10k run over Lingmoor testing out the range from @nnormal_official, followed by a well deserved brew and a recovery class courtesy of @fell.yoga

An amazing day with an amazing group. Thanks to everyone that booked on, @nnormal_official for providing some well needed traction, and our good mate and very talented photographer @alipennyphoto for documenting the day.

Bonus points for the BEST recovery hour at the @thehotbothy

What a day out in the Langdales!!🏔️🏃🏽‍♀️

This was our 3rd event combining fell running & yoga in the Lake District… We climbed out of the beautiful Langdale valley onto Lingmoor, experiencing some gorgeous views, wet & technical terrain with a fantastic group of women! 👏🏻😆🌧️

It was so brilliant watching this group push themselves, support each other and keep going when things felt tough. There were definitely moments where the route felt like a LOT, but everyone made it through! 🙌🏼

We finished up with some well deserved recovery yoga, stretching out tired legs and taking a moment to properly switch into relaxation mode, calming down our nervous system (something most of tend to skip after being out for a big day in the hills!) 💤🧘🏻‍♀️

A big thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a good day!! And to Dave @54northcoaching for leading us out, giving us some descending tips, @nnormal_official for giving us some essential grip for classic lakes weather and @alipennyphoto for capturing it all 📸 .

Already looking forward to the next one!!! 👀🏔️. Keep an eye out for more dates xxxx

UTMB is over for another year.
Lakeland 50/100 ballots opened yesterday.
The racing season is coming to a close.

The end of the race season can be a great time to take a step back, rest and reset, target set for the coming year and start to stack the bricks over winter.

Maybe you've never considered a coach before. Maybe you have, but have been waiting for the right time.

Maybe now is time to take the plunge and invest in yourself.

RUN & RESTORE ⛰️

Running in the mountains just hits different.

There’s something about heading out into the fells that makes you forget about pace and just enjoy being out there. You climb up, take in the stunning mountain views, chat away with good people and simply see where the trails take you.

And then comes the restore part 🧘🏽‍♂️

The best way to follow a run is with some yoga to stretch out the legs, loosen everything off and give your body a bit of love after the run. You’ll leave feeling relaxed and fresh to go and wanting to do it all over again…

Come and join us for a run through the Langdale Valley followed by yoga in the heart of the Lake District National Park.

Maybe you aren't training for a race but a big adventure/expedition?

I've been lucky enough to run all over the world in almost all types of conditions and environments. Big mountains in the Alps and Himalayas, 40°C deserts, racing in horrifically humid jungles, -20 Scottish winters, you name it. I've learnt a thing or two along the way.

I've made some mistakes and I've seen a lot of people make alot too.

Getting ready for big trips shouldn't be hard.

1 - Spend time building your aerobic engine and everything will become easier. Heat and altitude will become less of an enemy, you'll feel more efficient and probably enjoy the experience more.

2 - Get stronger, not just in the legs but full body. Build a solid, resilient body that can take the stresses and demands of what you're doing. The stronger you are, the easier things will be!

3 - Condition yourself to the specific demands. Lots of vert? Train that. Lots of technical ground? Train that? Carrying heavy packs? Carry a heavy pack.

4 - Correct kit is arguably the most important thing. You can walk up to Annapurna Basecamp, but do you have the kit to handle the -15 night's and high UV days? This can be a trip ender before it's begun.

If you've got a trip or expedition coming up and need some help getting ready, get In touch!!

Let me know if I've missed anything

Who’s in for an autumn fell running experience in the Lake District? 🍂⛰️

This October, we’ll be hosting another Fell Running & Yoga collaboration at the iconic Lanty Slee’s Stickle Barn, known as the gateway to the Langdales! ⛰️

We’ll head out onto the fells for a steady, social run of approximately 10–12km, taking in some of the Lake District’s most stunning scenery. Thanks to NNormal, you’ll also have the opportunity to demo a pair of trail running shoes designed for mountain terrain.

After the run, we’ll return to Lanty Slee’s for a well-earned coffee before heading up to the cosy loft for a recovery-focused yoga workshop. Expect deep stretching, calming breathwork and myofascial release techniques to help your body recover and leave you feeling refreshed.
