Thank you family for your kind donations during Give Miami Day. I take it to heart when we do our work here at the studio and we are made better for it in every way. It's such a beautiful thing. Thank you. by @6thstreetdancestudio

Feed the kitty. The basic requirement for an artist, is a space. Without a space to contain the ritual, to invite the song, it stays in the ethos. We need the gathering place, the thing we are bereft of currently. We require the next to each other, the friction of creativity, the sharing and rejecting of inspiration and ideas, the daily fare of practice, the place where it all goes down. The space is so important that it is taken for granted, it's like your mother. In this time of homogenization, when institutional learning moves out all the essentials of art making, remember the spaces, the weird spaces that say yes, that take you in an press you to be who you are dreaming to be. Think of this as Mother's Day lol and feed that kitty. Thank you my peeps. #givemiamiday #brigidbaker #6thstreetdancestudio #dancersofinstagram #dancersofmiami #contemporaryart #contemporarymusic #givetothearts #dancestudio #dancestudiolife #ballet by @6thstreetdancestudio

@6thstreetdancestudio has been a home for process and for innovation and for time spent making and investigating stuff. Commercial dancers, legit, hip hop, Afro-Cuban, modern, ballet, music, art making, b-boys, installations, children - everyone has passed through these doors. Help us keep them open and help @brigidbaker_wholeproject keep producing work. You gotta have art. Now more than ever. You can donate today up until 12pm. The donation link is in the studios IG bio.

Tonight at midnight begins the official 24 hour Give Miami Day. There is still time to give early bird style. It is a daunting challenge to maintain a sustainable dance commons, where creativity comes first, commerce second. 6th Street has been a home for process and for innovation and for time spent making and investigating stuff. Commercial dancers, legit, hip hop, Afro-Cuban, modern, ballet, music, art making, b-boys, installations, children - everyone has passed through these doors. Help us keep them open and help brigid baker wholeproject keep producing work. You gotta have art. Now more than ever. Thank you my peeps. by @6thstreetdancestudio

Day 3 of early giving Give Miami Day. Thank you Thank you.
Prior to the pandemic we were already in a time when special spaces for art and outlier work were disappearing, and the move toward institutionalizing study and practice at an all time high. The spaces are evaporating. Covid is an exponential threat.
Your donations keep the doors open and the company working. You gotta have art, now more than ever. givemiamiday.org by @6thstreetdancestudio
