A Dance of Fire and Ice's latest major update, v3.1, is out now on Steam! We've added local multiplayer, a new world CE-X from our Cosmic Radio collaboration, an overhauled version of 3-X, and more. First up, local co-op: this mode debuted in the Nintendo Switch version of the game, and now it's on Steam! You can play with 1-4 players. When a player misses a tile, they get knocked out. Revive Bubbles have been placed around the chart...hit one of those and you can bring them back into the game! You only need one person to survive to the end to win. Second: We're starting our set of Cosmic Radio collaboration levels with Dramatic Entrance, an excellent track by Uaaaaak that we've created both a Classic level and Tech level for. Dramatic Entrance (Classic) was made by… Music: Uaaaaak Chart: Rikri VFX: prod & TeoC Art: TeoC Dramatic Entrance (Tech) was made by… Music: Uaaaaak Chart: SaJabe VFX: ChyaRyam Art: ChyaRyam & TeoC This update also includes a visual overhaul of 3-X (plus a new arrangement by Riya), bugfixes, and new level editor additions. -- Video Editing: K-Project by rKizCora Video Assistance: TeoC Perfect Form Chinese Localization: Indienova Special thanks to: notDonte (notRat has me on his list again # 4404) ©2026 7th Beat Games. Here's a little preview of what's coming soon to A Dance of Fire and Ice. First up, we have the first of our levels from the Cosmic Radio event held by peropero, the developers of Muse Dash! We have a set of these levels that we'll be putting out one by one. We're starting our set of levels with Dramatic Entrance, an excellent track by Uaaaaak that we've created both a Classic level and Tech level for. Dramatic Entrance (Classic) was made by… Music: Uaaaaak Chart: Rikri VFX: prod & TeoC Art: TeoC Dramatic Entrance (Tech) was made by… Music: Uaaaaak Chart: SaJabe VFX: ChyaRyam Art: ChyaRyam & TeoC Next up, we have an overhaul of one of our old levels, 3-X THE WIND-UP. The art has a fresh coat of paint, bringing it closer to our original vision of a cavern filled with pools of acid. The vfx/animation are done by Firestix on our team, who was also responsible for It go and Libertas. The song's arrangement is also new. The new version is by Riya, of Butterfly Planet and Artificial Chariot fame, to update the instrumentation and lower the tempo a little bit. We think the tempo change will help iron out the difficulty spike. Back in ADOFAI's original prototype, 3-X was the final boss because there were only 3 worlds. Now that it's early in the game, it's a little more intimidating than we would've intended. This update is close to finished and will be on its way soon! After that, we'll be working towards our next Cosmic Radio level. Look forward to it, and thanks for playing! by @7th.beat

A Dance of Fire and Ice is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 12th! 🔴 Main Worlds + Xtra Worlds + Crown Worlds + Neo Cosmos all included in the game! 🔵 Local Co-Op Multiplayer for 2-4 players. You can finally tackle tough levels with a friend! When one player loses, you can revive them by hitting Revive Bubbles scattered around the path (Note: Neo Cosmos levels aren't compatible with multiplayer). If you're in the Americas, you can even find the game on the eShop today and add it to your Wishlist! The eShop page for other regions will be available on launch day. After launch, we'll also be releasing a selection of Featured Levels as a free DLC pack. That pack will get updated with new Featured Levels over time. We'll let you know the release date of the Featured Levels Pack when we get closer. by @7th.beat
Happy New Year! Hopefully you enjoyed the holidays. It’s been a little quiet on our end, but we’ve actually still been working on the game behind-the-scenes all this time, slowly working on updates. We had to take a bit of a break to focus on releasing our other game, Rhythm Doctor, into its full 1.0 and then taking a few weeks to rest afterwards. But now that we’re back…we have a new ADOFAI update for you, just in time for the 7th Anniversary of the game’s release! Here’s what’s new: – World AR: Libertas (Song by @zekk_wa_zetku, Guest Art by @jotade.art ) – New Featured Levels: Classic Wave 12 and Tech Wave 3 We also want to let you know that we’re almost done with the Nintendo Switch version of A Dance of Fire and Ice, and we’ll have news on the release date very soon. If you missed the announcement, we’ll also be adding local co-op multiplayer to both the PC/Mac and Nintendo Switch versions of the game. When we first started making A Dance of Fire and Ice, I don’t think we ever could have imagined that people would still be playing the game seven years later. It’s been very crazy (and very fun) to see how the concept of representing music as a winding path can be iterated in so many different ways. Thank you for playing all these years! by @7th.beat

If you have any friends who are into rhythm games, let em know! by @7th.beat
