Shooting these luxury suites at the @theemorylondon requires some magical lighting

When you don’t have a balcony to place lights on, ask your assistant to hang out the window with a flash and breathe in.

Thanks @kitdixonsmith for this - shots turned out great. 👍

I recently spent a sunny day photographing this incredible new location house. In my opinion it balances aesthetics and shoot-day practicality so perfectly.

Every space is considered and it was a real pleasure to shoot this one. I like the use of materials and colour choices and if I could move in I would.

Thank you to @maidenheadlocationhouse for inviting me to shoot it. @locationsdirect.co I’m sure you will be busy with this one.

Art directors, stylists and producers - definitely one to try and use asap!

A quick look at shooting suites at the beautiful @the_berkeley

The brief is to create atmosphere, a warm feeling and create sunlight shining through windows which feels natural.

Let me know if you think I nailed the brief?

This is the EXTENDED version - 82mm is exhibiting at the @indhotelshowldnI Olympia London - I have created a 1.40s video to be displayed on my stand located on the mezzanine floor 2150.

A curation of behind the scenes and final frames from various shoots over the years.
Such a fun exercise looking back and finding all these clips. Makes me remember how much I love what I do, I feel honored to shoot all these wonderful places.

If you are around on Monday and Tuesday please come say hi to me at the show. Thank you 🙏

Let me know if this video would make you stop and chat to us. 🤞

I really like shooting swimming pools.
There’s something so intriguing about them, a little luxury we get to enjoy every now and then. Like the sea, but in a non-salty, easier-to-manage kind of way.
You dip your feet in them, you watch a sunset over them, the reflections mesmerise you, and they’re almost always the deciding factor when booking a stay.
Swipe through for a few notes on how I approach shooting them and stick around to the end to see how I ended up in one.
Tag your favourite hotel pool in the comments so I can try and photograph it next!

Beyond the interiors lies how a guest wants to feel.

The welcome at the door. Handing over the luggage. The late afternoon pause. An unhurried dinner, and the eventual retreat into complete quiet.
Curated from shoots across various Maybourne properties to explore the rhythm of a guest journey and how visual storytelling captures the true feeling of being looked after.

Swipe through the story and let me know your thoughts?

Behind the scenes vs. the final frame.

Capturing luxury hospitality at the highest level is rarely a solo pursuit. Behind every polished architectural still and cinematic motion sequence is a dedicated team working together.

From pre-production and on-set lighting, to digital techs running live tethered review; hotel staff styling suites or stepping in to model; clients reviewing the monitor in real time; through to my specialist retoucher delivering the final master assets.

It takes an experienced crew and complete respect for the property to bring that creative vision to life without ever interrupting the guest experience.

Thank you to everyone that makes these shoots come together.

Next week myself and some of my team will be exhibiting at the Independent Hotel show at Olympia London.

If you’re heading to the show come say hello at 📍stand 2150 ( mezzanine)

Standing in the corner with a wide-angle lens is the easiest way to kill the vibe in a bespoke kitchen.

When I’m on location for high-end kitchen projects, I don’t try to fit everything into one distorted frame. I build the shoot around these 4 core compositions, it changes depending on location so you need to be flexible.

Adapt to the room, look for the sightlines, and give the details room to breathe.

Which frame is your go-to on a shoot?

7 frames from an extraordinary London residence.

Every room is a completely distinct world - a masterclass in pairing bold colour with tactile, timeless materials. This was Absolute joy to photograph; layered, deeply warm, and rich in detail.

Here are a few of things I do while shooting interiors in the UK.

Swipe through for 5 practical rules I stick to on every UK shoot - from ditching ceiling spotlights to why the “hero shot” should never be your first frame of the day.
Save this for your next interior shoot. Which rule would you add to the list?

This beautiful project is one of @proj_london and @cor.domi masterpieces!
