POSTS STORIES REELS

Believe it or not, Buck is actually one of gentlest animals on this property.
The puppies are fine. He just needed to introduce himself. 😅

This is actually worth saying out loud, because we get asked about it:

This ranch is safe.

Our animals have been handled & intermingled consistently since they were young.
They’re accustomed to people moving through their space,
children approaching their fences, dogs sharing their pasture,
the general productive chaos of a working ranch that has humans in it all day.
They are not spooked by unfamiliar things, because unfamiliar things are
part of their normal.

We share this because we know that for families considering a stay here,
or parents bringing children to the youth program, the question underneath the question is always:
“is it actually okay for my family to be around these animals?”

The honest answer: yes. More than okay.
Animals raised with consistency, handled with respect,
and managed on land they’re comfortable in are some of the safest,
most therapeutic presences humans can be around.

The research on this is unambiguous. The evidence on this Ranch is better.

The ranch is open. The animals are friendly. The puppies are happy ( and ready for new homes ).

It’s not a certification.
It’s not a label you slap on a product.
It’s not the same as organic, though the two share values.

‘Regenerative’ is a way of working with land that puts one question above all:
“Is this place healthier because we were here?”

On a conventional ranch, the land is a resource.
You graze it, use it, take from it…then manage the decline.
Most people don’t call it that. But that’s just what it is.

On a regenerative ranch, the land is a partner.
You graze it, but in patterns that mimic what wild herds did for thousands of years.
Intense, short impact. Long recovery. The grass comes back thicker.
The roots go deeper. The soil builds instead of depletes. 💪

The cattle & hogs aren’t just producing meats.
They’re fertilizing the pasture. Aerating the soil with their hooves.
Triggering the grass to push roots down & pull carbon from the atmosphere.
They are doing what they evolved to do, and the land is doing what it evolved to do in response.

Regenerative means the soil on this ranch has more organic matter than it did five years ago.
More water retention, microbial life, more capacity to grow food that actually nourishes.
It means the land is on a trajectory of recovery vs. slow decline for our personal benefit.

It means the food you eat here carries that healing in it.
It means we are not extracting a living from this place…
we are building one together with it.

That’s what makes a ranch regenerative.
The daily decision to work with the land instead of against it.
Even though it’s slower.
Because the alternative is overworked land that’s failing quietly…
and we’ve seen enough of that.

We set out to build a life worth living, on land worth caring for.
To raise our animals the right way, grow food with integrity, and prove that
the two don’t have to come at the cost of each other.

We knew this land could be healed instead of depleted.
That livestock raised with space and purpose produce something
fundamentally different from what fills the grocery store shelves.
We wanted our family doing real, honest work and build something
that gives back to the soil, the animals, and the community around it.

We built this for our family. Then realized it was exactly what other families needed too.
So we opened the gate…and we’d be honored to have yours walk through it!
You don’t have to go too far off the beaten path.
We’re here near Pagosa Springs, CO; raising animals right,
healing the land, and building something we’re proud of.

🙏 Your support through this wild ride means the world…
and our door doesn’t close on good people.
Come by when you can; we’ll save you a spot by the fire.

🐷🌧️ The floods of 2026 — keeping things interesting around here.

The pigs are out hunting for dry ground, but baby’s still getting breakfast no matter what. 🐖 Ranch life doesn’t stop.

Pagosa’s taken some hits lately, but our community is strong and we’re recovering together. Keep showing up for each other. 🤍💪

🌊 Pagosa Springs is bracing for history.

A couple hours ago I stopped for gas by the river and couldn’t believe what I was seeing — the water is rising fast. They’re saying it could crest above 20 feet by tomorrow morning, possibly the highest our river has run EVER!

I watched a deer get swept into the current right in front of me... and somehow that one clawed its way out. Nature doesn’t play around. If you’re local tonight — please stay safe, keep away from the water, and check on your neighbors. 🙏

Here’s what I know about this town: between the fires, the floods, and years of road construction, Pagosa has taken hit after hit — and we keep getting back up. 💪

Once the water settles, our local businesses are going to need us more than ever. So when it’s safe, come visit. Grab a meal, support the shops, the makers, the folks who make this place home. Every bit helps a neighbor rebuild.
Pagosa’s tough. We’ll get through this one too.

🐷💕🐶 Unlikely besties, population: 2.

Meet the newest love story at 84 Ranch — Margaret the potbelly pig and Diesel, our 84 Ranch pup. She climbs all over him, and he just keeps a watchful eye on his little sister. 🥹

Margaret and Gilbert are our new signature potbelly pigs — officially the sweetest (and most spoiled) pets on the ranch. Say hi to Gilbert back there too! 🐷

...and stick around for the end. That little kiss? Yeah. We can’t handle it either. 😭💕

This is the stuff you can’t script — just everyday magic out here. Come meet the whole crew in person.

🤍 One week in, and Pagosa is in cleanup mode.

I’m standing on the bridge over the river watching folks shovel mud out of the tubs at the Hot Springs — about six days since the flooding hit. And honestly, it’s a gut punch. Between the fires, the floods, and years of road construction, this little town has taken hit after hit.

But here’s what I know about Pagosa Springs: we don’t quit. 💪

Our local businesses — the shops, the restaurants, the hot springs, the makers — they need us right now. And the best way to help a town get back on its feet is simple: show up. Come visit. Grab a meal, book a soak, buy something from a local maker. Every dollar spent here helps a neighbor rebuild.

So if you’ve been thinking about a fall or winter trip to the mountains — come on out to Pagosa. We’d love to have you, and the town needs you now more than ever. 🍂🏔️

(And if you need a place to lay your head, our cabins at 84 Ranch are open and ready — but truly, wherever you stay, just come.) 🤠

Pagosa’s still standing. Let’s help her stand tall. 🤍

🐾 “Go get ‘em, boy!”

...and Kujo took off like a bullet — straight into the back of the truck. 😂🛻 Turns out the only thing he’s hunting today is a ride into town with his boy Togo.

That’s just life at 84 Ranch. 🤠

Meet the crew: Kujo — our stud and the patriarch of the pack (yep, that’s Togo’s dad). Plus our two newest sweethearts, Margaret & Gilbert 🐷 — the potbelly pigs who’ve officially been promoted to full-time ranch pets. Come say hi... they live for visitors. 💕

This is a real working farm AND ranch — regenerative to the roots — and the best way to feel it is to come stay a while. 🍂❄️

Our cabins are open and booking for fall and winter: cozy nights, fresh mountain air, a wood-burning hot tub, and plenty of character — four-legged and otherwise.

🐾 Meet the Guardians of 84. 🐾

Every great ranch has its crew — and ours runs deep. 😎

🐕 Kujo — the OG. Where it all began.
🐕 Diesel — the son. Next in line.
🐕 Togo — the heart of the pack.

Our Colorado Mountain Dogs don’t just live here... they watch over every acre, every animal, and every guest who rolls through the gates. The real Guardians of 84. 🏔️

And the newest members of the family? 🐷 Say hello to Margaret & Gilbert, our potbelly pigs! Come meet ‘em, greet ‘em, and let ‘em steal your heart — and yep, we’ll be breeding them, so there’s plenty more cuteness on the way. 💕
