"Bigger Badder Faster Louder" - David Freiburger

Some of my favorite pics I got at the @nhra Texas Fall Nationals at @texasmotorplex

It was my first time back at an NHRA Nationals since the last race at Bandimere in 2023. Was really cool to see all the new cars on the circuit, and to witness a 340mph pass for the first time 🤟

B Body Beauty

I was shocked & lucky to find this 1969 Plymouth GTX sitting out in the wild a few weeks back. I met the owner who informed me it's got a 440 under the hood that he build himself, with an auto bolted behind it. The drag radials out back are testimony behind his word that the car gets up and goes. I'm a huge fan of late 60s Chrysler B-Body cars so it was super cool to get a chance to photograph this badass hotrod.

Bangshift Billy

Bill Armstrong's 1966 Ford Fairlane 500, "Quick Henry". Regularly racing on RMRW, Dragweek, Sick Week and other drag-and-drives across the country for the last decade, this car has certified itself as a true fast street car. Armstrong famously drives this 8 second machine to and from every event.

Armstrong took first place in the 2026 Raceweek stick shift class.

Don Garlits' "Swamp Rat 12-A"

Was a shock to find the king of rail dragsters, "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, with his "Swamp Rat 12-A" rail at the @nhra Texas Fall Nationals.

Garlits Built the 12th rendition rendition of his Dragster "Swamp Rat" with a shorter wheelbase (137" instead of 190") in an attempt to hook better on west coast tracks. Because of many west coast tracks superior traction, Garlits believed that the length of a 190" dragster was unneeded and even harmed the rear tires ability to efficiently hook on well prepped tracks. His theory was proven wrong at the 1968 Winter nationals, so he sent the car home and sold it to Floridian sportsman racers, where the car lived in the C Dragster gasoline class for many years.
