POSTS STORIES REELS

Still on a high from the @letstalkaboutsexconference
💋✨

So much gratitude and appreciation to @sistersong_woc for trusting me to help produce the @letstalkaboutsexconference. It was truly an honor to be in community with so many brilliant, passionate, and committed people doing this work.

So many gems shared throughout breakout sessions, pre-cons and MainStage to help us continue the fight within not only the the reproductive justice movement but the fight to protect Black Women!

Leaving this experience feeling inspired, affirmed, and even more committed to the work. Because when we center Black women, our liberation is possible.

Until next time… keep talking, keep organizing, keep fighting, and keep choosing joy. 💋🔥

✨ The Story Behind Kandaka Events ✨

I started Kandaka Events because I believe every moment worth celebrating deserves intentionality, elegance, and heart. “Kandaka” honors the original Nubian queens; powerful, visionary, and trailblazing women. Just like them, my goal is to create events that leave a lasting impression and tell stories worth remembering.

For the past 10 years, I’ve been planning events professionally, helping others bring their visions to life. Kandaka Events is my opportunity to do the same for my personal vision: creating experiences that feel purposeful, seamless, and unforgettable.

I’m so excited to share this journey with you. Follow along @kandakaevents_llc for what’s coming! 💫 by @__madeinafrica

St. Louis, you’ve outdone yourself! 🎉

It’s been nearly three weeks since #FacingRace, and I’m still in awe of its success and the love it received. This is my 4th cycle planning this labor of love & truly the best one yet!

#FacingRace is the nation’s largest multiracial, intergenerational racial justice conference, and this year, we welcomed 4,000 people into this transformative space. Scaling this event alongside my incredible team has been nothing short of heartwarming.

Shoutout to my phenomenal team—LG, @girasol.del.sur @onsaya @jonce_monae @justinthenikkoftime —y’all are rockstars! 💫 Thank you @_rachel.dsouza for being a pillar of this success, @melaniemariestl for leading STL’s Host Committee with heart, and truly shining light on your city! You are THAT GIRL!

@frizzyflowers + @huesofval for bringing the exhibition hall to life welcoming over 50+ #bipoc vendors & beautiful installations!

This year’s highlights included:
✨ Over 100 breakout sessions led by national changemakers pushing the boundaries of racial justice.
✨ A historic bus tour spotlighting STL’s rich legacy, led by @4thevillestl
✨ A dynamic keynote conversation featuring Joy Ann Reid, moderated by the lovely @chasinggarza
✨ The ultimate STL party hosted by @iamreggieson , with sounds from @djkimmynu , Dirty Muggs, at STL’s gem, @houseofsoulstl — hands down the party of the year!
✨ Unforgettable performances from local STL artists.

Special thanks to our team behind the scenes 🎬@blackops.productions, @renaissancetjs @thatguychurch Productions

🎶 The dynamic sounds from @djnicomarie & @boogielov 🤎

I’m overwhelmed with pride for the relationships built, the investments made, and most of all, the amplification of STL’s rich history, culture, and talent. STL, you DID THAT!

Mark it down: November 20th is officially Facing Race Day in STL! 🙌🏾 🤎 #Gratitude #RacialJustice #EventProducer

Let’s get into a TIZZY 😵‍💫🤏🏽

💬 @__madeinafrica speaks on the importance of being more selfless and less selfish.

Not everything is about us, and being mindful of how we show up for others goes a long way.

A little food for thought from this convo 💭

Event production ain’t for the weak!

It’s pure hustle, stress, and laser focus to make it look smooth. If you’re seeing the glam, just know the grind is real! 10+ years in the game so there are stories to TELL, but nonetheless this work is all a labor of love!
