The Current King of Buffer 'TARU' by @__shreyash07
A 200 kg apex predator approaches your vehicle. Your heartbeat may hit 160 BPM, but your voice must remain absolute zero. What you witness is not aggression, but curiosity and sensory evaluation. Meet T9 (Bittu) and T10 (Srini), the legendary brothers born to Jai and Fairy at the famous Saatbhoki cave in Umred-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary. Raised in the tourist-friendly corridors, both became remarkably accustomed to safari vehicles, often approaching gypsies to inspect tyres and occupants before quietly disappearing into the scrub. T10 – Srini: An extraordinary disperser who travelled over 200 km from Umred-Karhandla to the buffer of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. He crossed highways, railway lines and the Wainganga river twice, adapting to agricultural landscapes through nocturnal movement and dense scrub cover. T9 – Bittu: Initially reluctant to cross farmland, he eventually mastered the rugged Ghodazari-Sindewahi landscape of Brahmapuri. He navigated human-dominated areas using canals and drainage lines, moving primarily at dawn and dusk. Their fate: In April 2017, Srini died after becoming a victim of an illegally electrified agricultural fence near Nagbhid. His radio collar was later found concealed in a nullah. Bittu’s remarkable journey also ended tragically in a railway collision in Brahmapuri. Their journeys demonstrated the extraordinary adaptability of tigers in human-dominated landscapes. Bittu’s lineage continues to contribute to the tiger population of Brahmapuri and neighbouring forest divisions. A conservation lesson: Regulated ecotourism can serve as a conservation watchdog and support local livelihoods, but only when visitors maintain strict behavioural discipline. When a Tiger approaches your safari vehicle: * Never stand up or break the vehicle’s silhouette. * Never rev the engine or create unnecessary noise. * Remain calm and allow the animal to move away undisturbed. Tiger Eyes — Built for the Dark Ever wondered why a Tiger’s eyes seem to glow in the darkness? Tigers are perfectly adapted for low-light conditions. Their eyes have a high number of rod cells, helping them detect movement in dim light. They also have a reflective layer called the tapetum lucidum, which reflects light back through the eye and improves their vision at night. That same adaptation creates the mesmerizing eye-shine we see when a tiger is caught in a spotlight. #tadobanationalpark #tadobanytime #tadobaofficial #tadobaandharitigerreserve #tadoba by @__shreyash07

One Tiger. One Forest. One Future | World Tiger Day On this World Tiger Day, let's remember that a Tiger is much more than a magnificent big cat. It is the heartbeat of our forests. Tigers help keep herbivore populations in balance, allowing forests to regenerate naturally. Healthy tiger forests support rainfall, protect fertile soils, conserve underground fungal and microbial networks, and provide clean air and fresh water. Their large territories keep wildlife corridors connected, helping countless other species move and survive. The remains of a tiger's hunt feed vultures, jackals, hyenas, and many other scavengers, keeping nature's recycling system alive. Tigers also act as indicators of a healthy forest, helping conservation teams monitor and protect these ecosystems from poaching and habitat destruction. By protecting tiger habitats, we safeguard biodiversity, reduce human wildlife conflict, lower the risk of disease spillover, and preserve peaceful forests where wildlife can thrive. Saving tigers isn't just about protecting one species, it's about protecting forests, water, wildlife, climate, and ultimately our own future. #globaltigerday #tadoba #savetigers #tadobanytime #tadobaofficial by @__shreyash07
