Travel just got better.
Locals who share your taste → the recs you've been missing
JOIN THE WAITLIST NOW.
POSTS STORIES REELS
THE WAITLIST IS OPEN. LINK IN BIO. Join now to be one of the first Localists when we launch. A travel network built on one idea: the best places are the ones you'd only hear about from someone who lives there. No checklists. No top-10s. No recs built for the masses. Just people, and the corners of their cities worth knowing. #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TasteMatchedTravel by @__thelocalist
How it works, start to finish. Take the quiz, get your archetype, tell us where you're going. We find the locals there who share your taste, and their list becomes yours. No vetting required, because the match already did that part. First access opens Friday. Follow so you don't miss it. by @__thelocalist
Introducing The Localist. The recommendations you've been missing — real ones, from real locals who actually share your taste. Not a star rating. Not a stranger's opinion. A person who'd pick exactly what you'd pick. The waitlist is coming soon. You're about to have access to the thing you didn't know you were missing. Follow along so you know the second it's live. by @__thelocalist
TheLocalist matches you with locals who share your taste — here are the final ten types that make it work. ✦ Every one of these is a way of traveling: the Host, the Pilgrim, the Insider, and the rest. Take the quiz and we map yours, then use it to connect you with locals who share it — so the recommendations you get come from someone who actually gets you. That’s all 20 taste types. Swipe through the final ten → and if you missed the first, they’re one post back. Take the quiz to discover yours and meet your matches · link in bio #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TasteMatchedTravel One bag. Two restaurants. A walk. You’ve watched people cram nine things into a day and enjoy none of them. Not your trip. Two places that matter, room to breathe between them, and the rest of the day on a walk with no destination. Doing less, perfectly, was always the actual luxury. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who know which two things actually matter. Follow along to get connected. Tag a Minimalist. ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TheMinimalist Travel is who you’re with, not where you are. You booked the table for eight, found the bar that takes a big group, and somehow the night ended with new friends and a story nobody saw coming. The city’s just the setting — you bring the evening. People don’t remember where they were with you. They remember that they were with you. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who throw the kind of table you do. Follow along to get connected. Tag the Host who always gathers everyone. ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TheHost There’s a reason to go. Everything else is secondary. You’ve crossed an ocean for one chef, one building, one record shop. While everyone else asks “what’s there to do,” you already knew the single thing — and built the trip backwards from it. Everything around it is a bonus. The reason is the whole point. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who’ll send you straight to the thing that matters. Follow along to get connected. Tag a Pilgrim with a mission. ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #ThePilgrim Here for all of it. Beach day? Yes. Three-hour museum? Al by @__thelocalist
TheLocalist matches you with locals who share your taste — and it starts with your archetype. ✦ Take the quiz and we map how you actually travel into one of 20 taste types — the Wanderer, the Aesthete, the Skeptic, and 17 more. That type is how we find your people: locals in cities around the world who share it, so their recommendations actually fit you. Here are the first ten. Swipe through → the other ten drop next. Take the quiz to find your type and meet your matches · link in bio #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TasteMatchedTravel No plan. Just momentum. You don’t visit a city — you devour it. New streets to exhaust, a new menu to eat through, somewhere to be that you haven’t decided yet. Sitting still is the one itinerary you’ll never keep. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who move exactly like you do. Follow along to get connected. Tag a Wanderer — you already know who. ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TheWanderer Three perfect meals beat fifteen good ones. While everyone else is speed-running a city’s top ten, you’ve found the one table worth staying at and ordered a second bottle. You’d rather know a single place completely than sample a dozen you’ll forget by the flight home. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who linger like you do. Follow along to get connected. Tag your Slow Connoisseur. ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TheSlowConnoisseur Comfort is not a compromise. You did the bunk-bed years. You learned the lesson. Now you’d rather take one fewer trip and do it properly — the hotel you don’t want to check out of, the transfer that isn’t a saga, the bed that ruins all other beds. Suffering was never part of the adventure. One of 20 taste archetypes. Soon you’ll find the locals who live as well as you do. Follow along to get connected. Tag a Sybarite (they’re probably at the spa). ✦ #TheLocalist #FindYourLocal #TheSybarite You read a city like a book — slowly, twice. You’ll spend a whole afternoon on one square mile while the tour buses do the whole city by lunch. The plaque nobody stops to read, the backstory behind the building everyone photographs — that’s where the trip actually ha by @__thelocalist
