"Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer’s lease hath all too short a date. Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimmed; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed; But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st, Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade, When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st. So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee." - “Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day?” by William Shakespeare by @_anemoia_lens
- EN PATINANT #sun #mediterranean #greeksummer #coastalliving by @_anemoia_lens
"Ah! Why, Because the Dazzling Sun" By Emily Brontë Ah! why, because the dazzling sun Restored my earth to joy Have you departed, every one, And left a desert sky? All through the night, your glorious eyes Were gazing down in mine, And with a full heart's thankful sighs I blessed that watch divine! I was at peace, and drank your beams As they were life to me And revelled in my changeful dreams Like petrel on the sea. Thought followed thought—star followed star Through boundless regions on, While one sweet influence, near and far, Thrilled through and proved us one. Why did the morning rise to break So great, so pure a spell, And scorch with fire the tranquil cheek Where your cool radiance fell? Blood-red he rose, and arrow-straight, His fierce beams struck my brow; The soul of Nature sprang elate, But mine sank sad and low! My lids closed down—yet through their veil I saw him blazing still; And bathe in gold the misty dale, And flash upon the hill. I turned me to the pillow then To call back Night, and see Your worlds of solemn light, again Throb with my heart and me! It would not do—the pillow glowed And glowed both roof and floor, And birds sang loudly in the wood, And fresh winds shook the door. The curtains waved, the wakened flies Were murmuring round my room, Imprisoned there, till I should rise And give them leave to roam. O Stars and Dreams and Gentle Night; O Night and Stars return! And hide me from the hostile light That does not warm, but burn— That drains the blood of suffering men; Drinks tears, instead of dew: Let me sleep through his blinding reign, And only wake with #sun #seaglare by @_anemoia_lens
Let the light of late afternoon shine through chinks in the barn, moving up the bales as the sun moves down. Let the cricket take up chafing as a woman takes up her needles and her yarn. Let evening come. Let dew collect on the hoe abandoned in long grass. Let the stars appear and the moon disclose her silver horn. Let the fox go back to its sandy den. Let the wind die down. Let the shed go black inside. Let evening come. To the bottle in the ditch, to the scoop in the oats, to air in the lung let evening come. Let it come, as it will, and don't be afraid. God does not leave us comfortless, so let evening come. "Let Evening Come" by Jane Kenyon by @_anemoia_lens
“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all - And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard - And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm - I’ve heard it in the chillest land - And on the strangest Sea - Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me. -“Hope” is the thing with feathers~Emily Dickinson by @_anemoia_lens
"Slowly, the west reaches for clothes of new colors which it passes to a row of ancient trees. You look, and soon, these two worlds both leave you one part climbs toward heaven, one sinks to earth. leaving you, not really belonging to either, not so hopelessly dark as that house that is silent, not so unswervingly given to the eternal as that thing that turns to a star each night and climbs – leaving you (it is impossible to untangle the threads) your own life, timid and standing high and growing, so that, sometimes blocked in, sometimes reaching out, one moment your life is a stone in you, and the next, a star." ~ Sunset by Rainer Maria Rilke by @_anemoia_lens
"You held my hand on the drive here wrinkles of shared time so big - a life we dreamt about so small - forevermore you read about it on your paper sunday morning coffee on the nightstand, cold I listen to you talk it's been a while since we first locked eyes a gallery - like this one where you and I at twenty are engraved eternally think of us now in my arms, you talk and talk about the yearning, crashing waves of your beloved belle-île so I lean in and, enamoured, steal a kiss - to our small, human life the ocean is eternal and so is this" ~ "monet lovers" poem by my dear friend @__annie_p_ @_anniespoetry_ 🫶 #goulandrismuseum #couples #artgallery #photography by @_anemoia_lens
~ΙΔ´ -"Θερινό Ηλιοστάσι" του Γιώργου Σεφέρη #sea #vouliagmeni #photography #lumixphotography #waves by @_anemoia_lens
