When your neighbor brings you a little surprise box from his homegrown veggie garden. Eggplants, heirloom tomatoes, some fresh basil. So pretty and absolutely delicious. Planning on making some eggplant sandwiches adding in a little goat cheese. It’s gonna be amazing. I love having generous and wonderful neighbors. I feel so fortunate. #freshfromthegarden #gardenfresh #gardenfreshveggies #eggplant #eggplants #purplepower #heirloomtomatoes #heirloomtomato #basil #boxedlifestyle #gifted #giftedby #blessed #thankful #neighbours #neighbors #kindnessmatters #neighbourly #inabox #surprises by @_artisonia_

I have a thing for watching bumblebees, sleeping in flowers. All the black chubby fat black bees we’re flying around these flowers. And this one took a break for a while. Testing out some new art supplies. Water soluble oil based crayons and water soluble graphite sticks. So much fun to see what they can do. Planning on doing something serious when I get a little downtime. #artsupplies #graphite #oilcrayon #watersoluble #testingproducts #preparing #newartsupplies by @_artisonia_

I haven’t posted in a while. I apologize to everyone for that. I’ve just been extremely busy. I’m planning on making some more time to post some images here and therein the next week. The town where I live, it’s been in the high three digit numbers, incredibly hot; which makes it really hard to go outside unless it’s quite early. Especially for walks with my little fur baby Bentley. Bentley had a skin lump removed 3 weeks ago. Thank goodness it was nit cancer and he has made a full recovery. He’s 11 years old now and still has his puppy spirit. He got a summer haircut today and he looks and feels so wonderful. Super soft fur. Playing with an idea for a new painting. This is my way of sketching and thinking things through. I like the color combination. Testing out some new Watercolors, Pencils, and micron pens. Or maybe some fabric with paint and embroidery. Still working out the ideas. #ideas #workingoutideas #sketching by @_artisonia_

The other day I had to take my mom up to the dental office at Hillside. The parking lot was under construction and I had to walk a completely different way to get to the car after I had dropped her off. I love when unexpected moments of beauty happen. I had no idea that there was a mini redwood forest of four extremely enormous trees at the corner of the parking lot. As i walked through the grass area that I usually miss altogether. I decided to stop for a moment to enjoy my surroundings. I stepped into the center and it was magical. I’m planning to make it a regular stop when I have to go up to Hillside. I am. still working on my pictures from the center of the redwood circle but these are the four trees standing majestically, tall and so gloriously beautiful the sun was coming across as you can see the line through the center. The parking lot guard in the red T-shirt below was completely unaware of this beautiful grove situated right behind them. This is one of those reminders to stop and smell the roses. To breathe for a moment and see what’s around you that you are missing on a regular basis. There’s so much beauty out there in this crazy, chaotic world that we live in. I never thought I’d find a Redwood Grove in the middle of a crazy jackhammered parking lot grateful for the small things each day brings. #ingreatcompany #greatful #redwoods #redwoodforest #redwoodtrees #cornerstone #smallmiracles #findingbalance #findingbeauty #hillside #redshirt #stopandsmelltheroses #reminders #trees #treesofinstagram #treeoflife #4corners #fourcross #fours #treephotography #tree_magic #treescape #momentsofwonder #aweinspiring #sights #sunlight #naturesbeauty #natureshots #nature_brilliance #spirit by @_artisonia_

Goddess Quanyin Poppy Crone Mother - Every day I look at this beautiful statue of Quanyin she changes with the light she changes with the seasons. But she always brings me a sense of peace and tranquility. When I need it overlaid in the background is a photograph of my mother I took the other day you could see her eyes peering through with the top. She has always loved Quanyin for the same reason I do. In the lower corner overlaid is Matilla Poppy or Fried Egg Poppy. I love the poppy flowers so much that I photographed them over and over and over again and they are common theme in my own artwork. I was working out this image from my own photographs to create a card for my mother. If you swipe through, you will see several variations.
