I love this sport 🤍 I’ve been in a build for about 9 months now, and in 2 weeks I’ll be starting my first diet phase. One thing about bodybuilding is that you really have to love the whole process. This phase is where I build everything that will eventually be shown on stage. But don’t get me wrong — it definitely has its uncomfortable moments. Sadly, in this day and age, it’s becoming increasingly common to see people struggling with body image. It’s something almost everyone has experienced at some point, and I personally have come a long way in my own journey. I went from throwing out my lunches at school and pretending I wasn’t hungry at dinner, to now eating whatever I need to successfully build muscle. My journey isn’t over but I have grown so much and will continue to grow. Skinny culture is still very much trending, and one of my goals is to show ALL sides of my journey. In this sport, what you look like is a huge part of it, so it can be incredibly hard not to compare yourself to other people on stage or online. But that’s exactly why I think we need more people showing more than just one side of bodybuilding. The stage is important, but so is everything that leads up to it. More importantly, it’s about the person you become along the way and the standards you hold yourself to throughout the entire journey. No, I’m not perfect.
No, I’m not 100% comfortable in my body all the time. But I know exactly why I’m here, and I know what I’m working towards. So I’m taking you all along for the journey with me — to show all sides of this sport, not just the final look on stage. This is my first show. I’m learning, growing, and soaking in absolutely everything I possibly can 🤍 by @_caitlinsalter_
