Weekend snaps in no particular order: Powerhouse Animation released the new season of Masters of the Universe: Revolution on Netflix, and we celebrated in style, especially with my gurl . I did a photo shoot in my unders ahead of my 40th birthday, and it was an absolute blast thanks to the artistic brilliance of and my styling/posing guru . Samara took me for an early bday dinner at Uchiko 😋🤤where she made eyes at me over our nigiri. I hung out with some of my favorites , caught a solo set from Deer Tick’s John McCauley, 😍 and grabbed drinks at the SoHo House thanks to the homie . Also got my sweat on at RIDE and talked band business for the new year for one of Austin’s BEST country bands (according to the Austin Chronicle) Harvest Thieves. I loved this weekend and I love all y’all. Somehow January is still happening..?? by @_citron_rachel_

Been feeling pretty sad so I thought I’d share some snaps of me enjoying myself as a reminder (to me) that joy is possible even at the hardest times. xoxo. by @_citron_rachel_

They said it couldn’t be done. They said three birthdays in one night was too many. But as the GREAT Elizabeth Holmes likes to remind us: first they call you crazy, then you change the world. Car problems tried to derail me but I couldn’t be stopped! I borrowed my neighbor’s car and spent the evening trekking across town from South Austin to South Congress to the wild tundras of Cedar Park to celebrate the births of 3 of my most treasured friends. Over 50 miles were traveled, but it was worth it. Hell, I even beat some twentysomethings at beer pong! All in all a most excellent evening. Happy collective birthdays, Matt, Marie, and Lexi! Y’all are rad as hell. by @_citron_rachel_

I’ve been on this planet for 40+ years and I think this is the first time I’ve ever successfully claw machine’d my way to a prize 🏆🏅 Never give up on your dreams, friends!! by @_citron_rachel_
One last birthday celebration this past weekend at the exceptionally dreamy. My date had completely lost his voice which meant I could talk non-stop and he just did charades and communicated via exaggerated facial expressions—truly a dream come true for me 🍨🥳. by @_citron_rachel_
This is 39 ✨ by @_citron_rachel_
Today I am 37. Last year I spent my birthday hosting a party at The Pershing with 3 bands and roughly 200 friends, including my parents. Today is much different. This past year has been one of the hardest I’ve ever had, concluded by a week that somehow put the last 50 or so to shame. Today I am just grateful to still be here, kicking around this earth, and to have my health, my home, my job, my family, and my friends—a handful of whom I’ll get to spend the afternoon with (thanks to warmer weather 🙏). Pandemic birthdays are weird and lonely, but HEY at least the goddamn sun is out! Here’s to another trip around it. xoxo Citch by @_citron_rachel_
